In an effort to produce creative and thoughtful solutions to meet their unique program objectives, we will address site, budget and time constraint issues. Every project is approached individually and is designed to serve the needs of each particular client. Our concern is always with the goal of achieving design excellence. The incorporation of architectural character elements that directly reflects our client’s traditions is routine in our work. The extent to which these elements occur is on a project specific basis. These features are important project conditions that ensure a continuation of our client’s history.

*Project Spotlight* - University Cancer and Blood Center - Athens

UCBC Athens is a 120,000 square-foot multidisciplinary campus offering medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, palliative care physicians services, primary care, and gastroenterology in one location. Throughout the space, a blend of soothing design elements provide a welcoming environment in the midst of a challenging time for patients. The tranquil color scheme, waterfall element, and the soothing artwork enhance the environment, ensuring that each visit becomes a path towards wellness. The second floor features a 7,000 square-foot infusion area with 48 spacious infusion pods and 13 private rooms, each serving as a tranquil sanctuary for patients embarking on their journey to recovery. The ample room size and adjacent outdoor terrace allows family members to join patients during infusions. In addition to medical space, the project also includes a 1,500 square-foot pharmacy, breakfast and lunch options in a cafe, a boutique featuring wigs and prosthetics, a meditation room, and a healing garden where patients can ring the bell in celebration of their last day of treatment.

Austin Trujillo joined DSC this summer (and last winter!) from Mississippi State College of Architecture, Art, and Design. Austin said his favorite part of interning at DSC has been the relationships he’s formed with everyone in the office and getting to learn the “real-world” side of architecture. We've loved having Austin around the office and will miss him as he heads back to Mississippi this weekend!

The state-of-the-art infusion center boasts 33 semi-private and private pods, each serving as a tranquil sanctuary for patients embarking on their journey to recovery. Our goal was to redefine the cancer care experience, and we're proud to provide the client with a space that embodies hope, healing, and innovation.

Emma Jordan joined DSC this summer from Mississippi State College of Architecture, Art, and Design. Emma said her favorite part of interning has been designing exterior and interior spaces and selecting materials for projects. She says she's learned so much about healthcare architecture and has enjoyed her summer here so far! We've loved having Emma around the office!

*Employee Spotlight* - Brandon Wright

Brandon initially joined DSC in 1998 as a draftsman and has since evolved into a highly respected Project Manager within the office. His phone is regularly buzzing with colleagues seeking advice on all aspects of document production. He’s a master of medical office buildings and provides a wealth of knowledge regarding wall sections, details, and drafting protocol, while also serving as the office consultant on all things automotive. Outside of work, Brandon shares a wonderful 25-year marriage with his wife, Mandy, and together they have a daughter named Jenna. On the weekend, you'll often find him enjoying quality time with his family or working on a vehicle – both accompanied by a cold beer in hand!

Special Powers: Heightened sense of humor and blazing supersonic speed (with drawing production.. less than swift otherwise!)

Residence: Dickson, TN

Fun Fact: Brandon has owned and sold well over 100 vehicles. So many that the state of Tennessee sent a letter stating that he had surpassed the allowable number of transactions before requiring him to obtain a dealer license.

This facility is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital that is roughly 60,000 square feet with 40 inpatient beds. Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Indiana, located just north of South Bend, Indiana specializes in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative services to patients throughout the Michiana area. The hospital sees patients who often are recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions.
