There is almost no fall color around Brian Head, but there is starting to be a little east of Cedar Breaks. We are at least a week from good color and two weeks in Brian Head.

It snowed quite hard yesterday. Powder day today (15"), but very cold with temps near 0F and big winds all day which will drive the chill factor to -20F or lower. You’d think we were back in Breckenfridge. I could see some weather closures. (And see Brittany’s comments below on her experience this morning).

Ready set gooooo! Brian head is open for business!!!

Peak color is upon us. The trees east of Cedar Breaks are at peak*, and Brian Head town should peak in the next few days. High Mountain is still at least a week away. The beautiful clone at Sydney Valley (right and bottom pics) is at peak but without as much of the deep oranges and reds as it has shown in the past.

* - I define peak as when we reach the point when early changers are dropping while the later trees are still changing. It lasts about a week or so.
