1 Peter 4:1
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you are willing to suffer for Christ, you have decided to stop sinning.
Surrender your sinful desires and passions to God’s forgiveness, for you cannot live in the presence of a Holy God with the filth of sin infecting your heart. This surrender is hard in terms of violence to our will and our selfish inclinations, but it is easy in comparison with ongoing life and eternity without having surrendered to God.
