🥹 John Ellender WON the Fall Shootout at Rayburn. His first 15 minutes of fishing netted him his personal best- a 9.31 bass and 7.00+ bass. But the real story is below. John and his dad fished together since he was a little boy and his dad taught him everything he knows about fishing! They fished the Big Bass Splash tournaments together for 20+ years. It’s one of the most unique aspects of the Big Bass Splash, the legacy of families, generations of families, fishing together year after year. John’s dad’s health has declined and unfortunately he’s not been able to fish for a while so wouldn’t you know there was one place on John’s mind on his way home from Sam Rayburn. John brought the trophy to his dad’s house and dedicates this win to him! It sits on the shelf by his chair. We celebrate you, John. Not just for your BIG WIN but your heart and spirit to honor your father. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Congratulations to the 2024 Fall Shootout Champion, John Ellender! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Enjoying a sunset on the Sam Rayburn Reservoir in East Texas. The 114,500-acre reservoir is located in six counties: Angelina, Jasper, Nacogdoches, Sabine, San Augustine, and Tyler. It is a premier largemouth bass fishery that hosts hundreds of tournaments annually.
