My name is Alison Gorrell and I have created my company Back-To-Basics to offer help in areas where people struggle most. Personal finances. Having been where you are, I struggled at times and felt I had nowhere to turn. Luckily, with a financial background, I was able to turn things around for my family. Or at the very least, we were able to survive without losing everything. No one was there to
help me, to guide me, or to tell me what choices were best for me. Sure, plenty of people had advice but they were lenders that were truly only concerned about being paid or selling a product, or they were friends who meant well but had never been where I was. I learned for myself the best way to survive this economy and now I want to share what I have learned. I WANT to HELP! When I started out, I had no original intention of helping companies. But then I had a business approach me and ask me if I could help them. I responded, “If you need me, I will be there.” I have years of experience with various accounting software including QuickBooks, Quicken, and Peachtree. I also have years of experience with Microsoft Office. My Associates of Arts in Accounting will be completed in just a few weeks and that has given me even more knowledge in the world of finances. The reason I have decided to help businesses is because I have seen first-hand what damage can be done by inaccurate financial statements. When you consider that your accountant uses your financial statements that your print from your accounting software to do your taxes, inaccuracies can have catastrophic consequences. I am here to help change that. I will even teach your staff to use the software properly in hopes to avoid future issues. It is impossible to get more detailed than that in an introduction because my work is specialized to each person, household, or company.
