So its the time of year that the Palo Verde beetles come up out of the ground (monsoon season) June and July. This one is by far the largest one I've caught to date. The beetles mate above ground then lay there eggs in the ground by the tree roots. The larve hatch and burrow into the tree roots for 2-4 years the grubs will emerge at that point and start the process over.
