Now that the holidays are over, I wanted to take a few days to dive deeper into some reviews from our Universal & Disney trip that we took a few weeks ago!
The first thing I wanted to review is our hotel stay! We stayed 7 nights are Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort! This is considered one of their value resorts and offers standard rooms that sleep 4 adults, as well as family suites that sleep up to 6 adults. Since we are a family of 6, we stayed in the family suites. This gave us a kitchenette equipped with a small fridge, microwave, and counterspace. We prefer to do breakfast in our room to save some time and money, so this kitchen space was perfect for us!
For sleeping, there is a pull out couch in the living room space that sleeps 2. Towards the back of the room there are 2 queen beds that can be separated by a sliding door. There was plenty of space for all of us!
The bathroom was great because everything was separate. The main area had a large sink and mirror. To the right was the toilet with a seperate door and to the left was a tub/shower & seperate sink with a door as well. This was awesome for getting ready in the mornings.
The hotel itself had great amenities available. Unfortunately, it was too cold to use the pool while we were there so we didn't get a chance to check out the pool areas or lazy river. However, we did see several pool in there! The do heat the pools, but it was just too cold for me!
One great perk to this hotel is that it offers pizza delivery right to your room until 12am! We utilized this one night when we were too tired to go out. There are other great dining options on the property as well such as a Starbucks, Milkshake shop that stays open late, and Bayliner Diner, and the Swizzle Lounge.
Plus - you have a special entrance into Universal's Volcano Bay! It is a super short walk and you can even see the big Volcano from the hotel. To get to the other Universal theme parks, you can choose to take the complimentary shuttle service or you can walk, which takes about 20 minutes.
Overall we had a great stay! The resort walk clean, the rooms were spacious, the price was great, and the amenities were a nice perk! I would definitely recommend this resort to my clients looking for a comfortable and affordable stay at a Universal resort.
