The most requested Ham Festival tradition is making a return for the 2023 festival... THE PARADE! Who's Excited?

In order to keep this tradition going in the years to come, we need the community to HELP, we need floats, classic cars, mules and wagons, horses, floats, marching groups and more! Entry is FREE, we do ask that participants bring at least one can good donation to be collected for the Helping Hands Food Bank.
We hope to see the downtown streets once again lined with spectators and smiles from all the amazing participants.

We are excited to announce that the PINTA is coming back to GTB May 5-14! On Friday May 5th the “Pinta”, a Replica of a Portuguese Caravel used by Columbus and many early explorers, will open as a “floating museum” for dockside educational tours. The Ship will be docked at Green Turtle Bay Marina, 263 Green Turtle Bay Dr, Grand Rivers, KY, 42045 until her departure May 15th.

In 2005, the Pinta was Launched in Brazil after 3 years of construction. The Ship was built by 8th generation Portuguese Shipwrights using the same methods and hand tools that were used to build the original in the 15th Century. The Pinta was the first Ship to sight land on the famous voyage of discovery on October 12th, 1492.

Historians consider the “Caravel” the space shuttle of the 15th Century and was used as early as the 13th Century and into the 16th Century. The Caravel was mainly used as a typical trading vessel along the Mediterranean and African Coast before being used for Transatlantic Voyages to open up new trading routes all over the World.

The general public is invited to step back in time & explore the Pinta for self-guided tours from the 5th-14th May from 9:00a-5:00p daily. No reservations are necessary. Tickets are purchased at the Ship and prices are $8.00 for Adults, $7.00 for Seniors/Military (65+), and $6.00 for Children (5 - 16). Children 4 and under are Free.

Our award winning shot of a brown bear swimming with red salmon has been so popular we thought we'd share more images from the series.
