Our Story
Art Therapy Heals, LLC collaborates with art organizations, mental health agencies, and educates the community about art therapy and the benefits of its services.
Art therapy is a natural and non-threatening form of expression that communicates what cannot be stated in words. The American Art Therapy Association defines art therapy as a mental health profession that uses art to enrich an individual’s emotional, physical and mental wellness. Art therapy is an engaging creative process that helps individuals resolve inner struggles, develop social skills, increase self-esteem and autonomy, and attain awareness.
Molly is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Registered Board Certified Art Therapist. She has experience as an instructor of art therapy, and has provided supervision to master’s level internship students and art therapists working towards their ATR Certification. Molly has diverse professional work experience in settings such as a pediatric hospital, hospice and bereavement, and a homeless shelter for women and children. Most recently she has provided community art therapy groups for families, adults who have been diagnosed with cancer and survivors of s*xual assault. Her current focus is treating females who have been s*x trafficked.
Molly serves on the Board of Directors of the the Buckeye Art Therapy Association in addition to the Honors Committee Member for the American Art Therapy Association. She has delivered numerous creative workshops and presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. She has also authored professional journal articles and book chapters.
