Keeping the F1 theme going for this year's Southern Cross Race shirt since we received a lot of compliments on these last year. Teenager approved, in our soft and comfy tri-blend shirts. Color coordinated with our new blue finisher medals because I'm a female race director and the details matter. Do me a solid and register before the 2/7 guaranteed shirt size deadline so you get your preferred size or if you'd like a ladies shirt.

Its that time of year and we are looking for volunteers to assist at the 2025 Maxxis Tires Southern Cross Race on March 1st! We have a lot of options:

$100 EVENT CREDIT - Commit to a 6 hour volunteer shift and receive a $100 event credit that can be used at any of our events.

$100 DONATION - Commit to a 6 hour volunteer shift and receive a $100 donation on your behalf to your choice of organization. (SORBA Chapters, Trail Organizations, Youth MTB Teams, etc!)

VOLUNTEER AND RACE - Volunteer Friday Feb 28 from 4-8 pm (registration) and then on Saturday March 1 from 7-9 am (registration or parking), race this year's Southern Cross race for free.

BRING A VOLUNTEER AND RACE - Bring a friend or family member who wants to volunteer for a 6 hour shift on Saturday March 1st (many tasks available - course marshal, aid station, registration, lunch handout), race this year's Southern Cross race for free.

Volunteers also receive a shirt and lunch from Moes. No experience is necessary and we take great care of our volunteer crew. If interested, either message on here or you can email [email protected] with availability, shirt size and any task preference.

Wishing our Mountain Goat extended family a Very Merry Christmas! 2024 was a challenging year for event promoters, so we are grateful for the support of our participants, sponsors, volunteers, friends and family! EXCITING CHANGES FOR THE 2025 GARLAND MOUNTAIN TRAIL RUN - Everyone's favorite uphill finish!!

Course Options:
4 mile traditional trail run (same course as 2024)
4 mile dog-friendly trail run (separate start at 30 sec intervals)
6 Hour Relay for solo, 2 person and 3 person teams!

For the 6 hour relay, the same 4 mile course will be used and runners will attempt to complete as many full laps within the 6 hour time limit as possible. We will have solo, 2 person, and 3 person divisions. All relay participants may set up a pit area in the parking lot, which you will pass by after each lap. You can pick up nutrition, rest, or switch runners if you are in a team division. This format is really fun and offers a much more social setting and festival-like atmosphere. Solos and teams are welcome to attempt as many laps as they wish within the 6 hours, so if a solo wants to run for 2-3 hours then stop, that is completely fine, however rankings are determined by most laps in the least amount of time. The only rule is that each participant needs to complete one lap to be considered an official finisher. If you need some motivation to run some longer distances or want to try and hit a distance milestone, this is the event for you!

April 12, 2025 - Garland Mountain 6 Hour Relay (solo, 2P, 3P)
May 10, 2025 - Rope Mill 10K and Half Marathon
November 8, 2025 - Rope Mill 3.3 Miler

Don't forget that this Saturday Dec. 7th is the Chainbuster Racing Big Ring Challenge at Jack Rabbit Trails! These are fast, flowy trails and the climbing is very manageable. This is one of the last MTB events before Christmas and New Years.

Tee shirt deadline is SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2024 at 11:59PM! This is a little early due to the Thanksgiving holiday! Go ahead and get signed up so you don't miss out!!

Optional Early Packet Pickup for the Blankets Creek 3 and 6 Hour is tonight (Thursday) from 4-6 pm at Free-Flite Bicycles on Canton Rd. If you want to pick up everything tonight, you will need to be registered by 11 am today. Hope to see a bunch of you tonight - I have lots of mugs to give away!

I just discovered two boxes of these mugs leftover from the 2023 Rope Mill Duathlon. I'll be bringing these to Free-Flite Bicycles, as well as 20 Mountain Goat Mugs, for the optional early check-in on Thursday, November 21 from 4 to 6 pm. Anyone who would like one is welcome to pick one up...first come-first serve. If we have any left after Thursday's early check-in, I will have them out at check-in on Saturday morning. We'll also have the leftover shirts from this year's Rope Mill Duathlon available on Saturday morning - free to a good home.

For the 240 of you already signed up for the Blankets Creek 3 and 6 Hour, we will have Martha’s Outpost set up at the event with hot chocolate, coffee, teas, and merch. The hot bevs are sure to be a hit on a chilly morning. We also have a small number of Mountain Goat Hoodies that we will be selling for $25 each.

We are up to over 70 juniors with many of the top athletes in the state competing on teams or as solo racers. Registration is open until 5 pm on Friday November 22nd for those that want to join in on the fun!
