I tried sweeping the steps and Pinkie barked at the broom. She eventually tried to kill it. She pulled it down the stairs and into the yard to work it over good. Poor poor broom. It didn’t seem evil to me?😜

Doing ANYTHING with a puppy in the mix proves challenging. Trying to transplant some day lilies. Pinkie decided she wanted the pot so she removed the plants, pawed them to pieces and played with the pot. She claims the strangest things as puppy toys😂

Getting everyone to look the same direction was impossible today, but we tried! In the background: Mistletoe and daughter, Sugar Plum. In front: our daughter, Taylor Cox with her two babies: Luke and Bella beside ME holding Pinkie, our newest kid! Two-legged. Four-legged. Doesn’t matter! It is a blessing to be a mom!

We drove over 1,400 miles to pick up Pinkie since she is a Reindeer Herd Dog, but her favorite pal on the farm so far is Chester the Cat! Sugar Plum is less than thrilled about her arrival. Snowball and Griswold give her kisses and Mistletoe will tolerate her if I bribe her with cookies. Will she and Sugar Plum ever become friends? We will need to see what transpires in future episodes of “The Adventures of Sugar Plum and Pinkie”!

Pinkie has the most expressive eyes and ears of any animal we have ever had. We love the way she c***s her head and perks up one ear when she is listening for a command. She is so smart, it is a bit alarming at times…like she understands everything we are saying. What fun it is to have a baby in the house!

Pinkie spends the day outside with the reindeer, gets training 3x per day and then comes in to play at night and it is hilarious! She is such a good girl and settles right down in her crate in our bedroom and sleeps thru the night. We have never had such a smart little doggie!

Sweet Pinkie has been meeting lots of new people lately. She loves everyone! Makes our hearts so happy to see how well socialized she already is. The picture on the left is one of our adopted kids from our son’s group of lifetime friends and he is such a dog lover we had to keep an eye out for puppynapping! We got our eye on you Derek!😂 The picture on the right is our granddaughter playing games with Pop, eating popcorn and Pinkie content to watch the whole thing from her playpen indoors. She spends every evening inside snuggling and hanging out with us boring old people👍

In the evenings Pinkie comes in to play in the house. Her stamina is much greater than ours. She comes from a breeder with 7 children so she is used to lots of human and animal playmates. Every few minutes she sits and stares at me. Then she stares at Scott. Then she stares at me. Then back to Scott. It’s as if she is thinking, “You people bore me. Is this all you got?” Her tiny, intense people eyes are a bit unsettling. You can just see the wheels turning!

Sugar Plum and Pinkie met for the first time. They were both pretty apprehensive. We have sterilized the barn so that Pinkie can spend time in a safe space near her new buddy until she has completed her vaccines and is fully protected. She is 9 weeks old.

Miss Pinkie made it home safe and sound to her new home in Canton, IL. She has already given the reindeer kisses, made friends with Penny the pitbull and got her first reindeer antler to chew on!
