It’s been around one year since hurricane Ian devastated our area. We here at down to fish like so many others, would like to stop and thank everybody that has supported this community and our selfs, in such a time of need. It has been heartbreaking, with silver linings of hopefulness as well, to watch such destruction and loss of life and property, as on the other hand, bear witness to the amazing aspects of human life and community when it comes together. I personally never expected to take a hurricane as hard as this one has hit us. Thankfully, we lost no lives directly and property is slowly beginning to make its way back as well as my health. So, from the bottom of all of our hearts here at down to fish we would like to say thank you and we truly love you❤️ we are truly blessed to live in such an amazing community such as southwest Florida. We are lucky to be here. We will never take that for granted and we look forward to taking U fishing or just talking to you in the future. Tight lines and safe travels, everyone ❤️ Here’s to an amazing season, and a bright future as we tilt our glasses hi and honor all that we have lost.🎣

Today, April 2, is World Autism Awareness Day and CCSO can help.
CCSO offers decals which drivers can place on the window where an individual with autism most frequently sits. The decal reads “ATTENTION: Occupant with autism may not respond to verbal commands.” The simple message immediately informs deputies who might encounter an individual with autism during a traffic stop, at the scene of an accident, or assisting a disabled motorist.

CCSO also encourages people to use the decals at home to inform any facet of public safety, even for those rare times that a fire requires an evacuation.
