And the winner of the “Most Improved - Best Curb Appeal” for the October 2022 Sears Kit Homes Spruce It Up Day is….
Elizabeth Engles-Williams and her landlord, Chris Ribble, of the 1000 block of Johnson Street. They will receive $500 to be used at local businesses to continue improving the home from the street view. The prize money must be spent on items such as landscaping, paint, repairs on doors and windows.
Homes were viewed from the street prior to the October 8th Spruce It Up work day and judging took place later that afternoon.
Thank you to the sponsors of the event: Carlinville Lions Club, APEX Clean Energy, Goodman Agency, “Make Carlinville Beautiful” and the dedicated volunteers that gave of their time and energy to make this event a success.
The next next Sears Kit Homes “Spruce It Up” day will be in the Spring of 2023. The long term goal is for the entire historical neighborhood to be ready for tourist by the 100th Anniversay of Route 66 in 2026. Anyone interested in volunteering or supporting the Sears Kit Homes Renewal Plan can contact Mary Tinder (217-825-9699) or Roger Goodman (217-823-2293).
