Three part post on the Cary Cherry Center for the Arts - Part I The Houston Sculpture Garden located on the grounds of the Cherry Center was designed by Carmel sculptor Eileen Auvil and opened in 2006. This is a quiet place for contemplation that is going to be updated this year.

Plus, join in the fun at “Dancing Through the Decades” street party with The Money Band

A wonderful collection of over 50 stories covering many of the colorful people and events that make up the history of Carmel, California.

Hot off the presses just in time for this year's big Centennial event - A Village in the Pine Forest: Carmel-by-the-Sea is a concise history of our little village through the first 100 years. This wonderful keepsake was lovingly compiled by Katherine Gualtieri and Lynn Momboisse on behalf of the Carmel by the Sea Centennial Celebration & Parade and the City of Carmel, California. It will be available for purchase for just $5.00 at the Farmers' Market behind Devendorf Park on Thursdays from 10am to 1:30pm as well as at the Carmel Visitors' Center's new location in the Carmel Plaza, open daily from 10am to 5pm. All proceeds go to City.

Synopsis: This 95 page book showcases over 150 historic homes and inns of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California with full color photographs, their locations, and a short description of the original owner (or most famous owner) as well as the architect or builder.

The book is composed of five chapters which lay out Carmel-by-the-Sea in easily walk-able quadrants for self-guided touring of this one square mile town.

The book also features a link to a google map where all 150 historic homes and inns are electronically mapped.

All books will be signed by one of the authors, Lynn A. Momboisse, if requested.
