Today is Midsummer, one of the most popular holidays in Sweden. It's a celebration of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.

Traditionally, Swedish Midsummer is always celebrated on the Friday occurring between 19 and 25 June.

One of the most iconic symbols of Midsummer is the maypole, a wooden pole decorated with greenery and flowers.

In many corners of Sweden, the raising of a maypole is organised as a public event, with singing and dancing around the pole.

Let's not forget the romantic part of Midsummer. Ancient tradition says that if you put seven different flowers under your pillow on the night to Midsummer Day, you'll dream of your future spouse.

The strawberries are growing at ! It’s the first year I’ve tried planting them in our balcony boxes! Guests can pick and eat them as the enjoy sitting at the bistro table or reading in the little balcony nook.
