From the beginning to the end, our team takes steps to ensure safety is our utmost priority in every aspect of the project. We identify risks associated with each project so that we can mitigate hazards in construction.

While working on the Trinity Lakes Station, TRE’s newest train station that opened earlier this year, we identified and addressed three safety hazards before they became safety issues:

-Summer Heat: We implemented a comprehensive Summer Heat Playbook that kept our workers rested and hydrated.

-Train Track Safety: Offsite, we conducted toolbox talks and awareness sessions to educate the team about potential hazards with moving trains. Onsite, we communicated regularly with flaggers.

-Electrical Safety: We conducted continuous testing of electrical circuits to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.

Falls are the leading cause of death in construction, and they are 100% preventable. OSHA recommends taking three steps to prevent falls on a job site:

-Plan ahead to get the job done safely. The planning phase should identify the tasks that need to be done, potential safety hazards, and the safety equipment needed at the job site.

-Provide the right equipment. Make sure your team is using the right types of ladders, scaffolds, and safety gear for each task.

-Train your team to use the equipment safely. Require your team members to attend weekly safety meetings, complete annual safety training, and learn how to conduct walkthroughs to help identify safety hazards.
