The annual sheep parade is next Saturday and the sheep are popping up around town. Wrenbury Cottgae has joined in the festivities and has a lamb on display too.

Finish painting the exterior of the house. ✔️

When I purchased the house, I was determined to do everything myself. It would mean a lot of work, but I love the challenge and I’m a sucker for before and afters.

I have spent SO much time working on the entire property and have accomplished SO much. My goal was to finish the exterior of the house this week. While sitting in the backyard Monday, I just felt overwhelmed looking at the height of the house and wondering how I was really going to do it. I’m terrified of heights. Overwhelmed, as in fighting the tears and knowing I had bit off more than I could chew. D told me to hire someone to finish the high parts, but I felt like I was quitting on something I had invested so much time on.

Fortunately for me, my nephews were visiting from Kansas and needing “something” to do. Answer. To. Prayer! They spent over thirty hours cumulatively in three days and finished the house. I paid the boys and thanked them numerous times for helping me. It looks so good and I’m so happy. May have shed a few tears of joy. 😉

I laid flagstone in the back corner of the garden for one of the seating areas in the yard. It was exhausting and I looked like I was 117 years old at the end walking around. I finished off the area by painting the table a fun lilac color and brought in some fresh peonies to enjoy before I headed home.

Happy New Year!

Lots of exciting things happening at the Cottage this year. Currently it is being used as an Airbnb and has gotten rave reviews from the guests with some already booking the cottage for future stays.

In the summer months of June-September, the cottage will be opening its doors twice a week to guests for traditional afternoon tea service in the cottage or out in the secret garden. More details coming soon. I can’t wait.

Winter wonderland here at the Cottage. I’ve got the hot chocolate bar set up, the kids brought their snow clothes, and the girls are determined to make snow cones from the fresh snow.

The transition to Tea House has begun. Next summer, Wrenbury Cottage will be serving afternoon tea 2-3 times a week in the front and dining rooms along with the secret garden.

The Cottage garden is beautiful right now with the colors of fall. A giant mushroom was found on the floor of the Children’s Forest with a neat leaf imprint.

I watched the Sheep Parade from the front porch of the cottage this morning. The cutest car drove by and I chased down the owner’s daughter requesting I get a picture of that car in front of the house. Awhile later, this cute car pulled up, I got a picture IN the car and then went for a drive. Talk about so much fun! 1929 car and my 1925 house. It was the perfect combination.

The cottage has been busy being booked almost every weekend. It’s fun to see that my guests are happy with the house and that I’ve become a super host through Airbnb.
