Home for the next 10 days. Gregory Blaine Kaiser and I are meeting here to fish the National Crappie League National Championship on Sardis Lake on the 27th, 28th, 29th. We have a few days to go find them before the tournament.

These guys have helped us tremendously and couldn't do this thing we love without them.

Many of you know these guys. BOB and MIKE. These 2 guys have my utmost respect along with alot of other people's. They are always and I mean always helping/volunteering/cooking fish for all kinds of venues. They help out alot at the habitat builds at Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance along with Crappiefest just to name a few.

I wanted to give back to these guys as a token of my appreciation for what they do for our community so I took them fishin. Thanks fellas appreciate everything you guys do.

We fished 4-6fow searchin for roaming fish. Once the sun got up the fishin got alot better. Today was alittle slower as I think that is due to the up coming weather front we have on the way. Big fish of the morning was a 1.56lb white.

ALL BIG FISH WERE RELEASED.

Of course we had the Outlaw Crappie Poles and 40lb braid K9 Fishing Products paried with a couple baits today. We had Crappie Monster Small fry in "MARGARITA". After the sun got high in the sky the Hard Water Jigs in "BABY FAT" was on fire.

Cory Barcus aka (Fuzzy Bear) has been talkin to Me at work about fishin and that he has never been crappie fishin. Well we finally made it happen. The big fish were biting this afternoon he had several 1.50s with a big fish of 1.91lb congrats man on a new PB.

ALL BIG FISH RELEASED

We fished 4-6fow as the fish were shallow this afternoon getting that much needed sunshine they have been waiting for all winter. (I think most of us have lol.)

Baits of choice this afternoon was the Crappie Monster Small Fry in "MARGARITA". Hard Water Jigs in "BLACK EMERALD" TOPHAT Jigs Small Fry in "PURPLE HAZE".

Fellow TOPHAT Jigs pro staffer Reagan Smith and I have talked several times about livescope and how I utilize it. It was a good day on the water to be able to show what FFS can do on my boat. Everybody has different setups and different ways to fish but he got to see what it's like on my boat.

This morning was a catch and release day not 1 fish was kept.

We fished 6-8fow roaming fish lookin for shad. This mornin the fish were very aggressive but the big fish bite wasn't as good as it has been. We did catch some nice ones biggest of the day was a 1.78lb white.

Of course we used Tophat Small Fry in "PURPLE HAZE" along with Pop’s Crappie Jig’s in "PINK BAITFISH" and Hard Water Jigs in "BLACK EMERALD". All paired to a Outlaw Crappie Poles 14ft PRO SE and 40lb braid K9 Fishing Products .

Brett and Doug came over from Indiana and wanted to see what FFS could do before they pulled the trigger. Well let's put it this way he is headed to the best place he can to get hooked up with for livescope. Stump Hunter Electronics here he comes.

We fished 6-8fow open water roaming fish lookin for shad. Boy were they hungry. They would come and just hammer the jigs. Big fish of the day was a 1.61lb white.

We threw the kitchen sink at them today. We paired Hard Water Jigs in "BLACK EMERALD". Mr Mike and his buddy Scott fish the HOI Crappie Club. They wanted to go out and see FFS and look for there PB. Mission accomplished on both fellas. Congrats Mike on a 1.85lb white and Scott with an absolute 2.33lb slab of a white. All big fish were released.

We fished 6-8fow lookin for fish that were up in the water column getting all the sun they can.

We paired the Outlaw Crappie Poles and the 40lb K9 Fishing Products with a Hard Water Jigs "Black Emerald" was a deadly combination.

A little longer post but here goes. During Crappiefest yesterday my good buddy Seth the owner of Hard Water Jigs came by the booth. His 9 year old son Elliot was with him. Elliot and I started talkin bout fishin and how he has NEVER caught a crappie. I mentioned to Elliot that I had a trip in the mornin and if he talked to dad and wanted to meet at the ramp for the afternoon I would be more than happy to take him out. O man you should've seen him lite up like he won the lottery. I knew right then the pressure was on. If you know me and have ever fished with me kids are always first in my boat.

We fished 8-10fow lookin for crappie that were suspended lookin for bait fish like we did the morning.

From bout 1230 till 3 the bite was still there but wasn't as good as the morning. When they did turn on ol buddy Elliot put a whooping on them big slabs. Not only did he catch him a Crappie he set his PB pretty high for the 1st time with a 1.61lb slab. Congrats buddy and thank you for comin out with me. I'm not sure who had more fun ELLIOT, SETH or I.

Baits of choice were "EMERALD SHINER" and brand new tried 1st time today "BABY FAT" all made by Seth. Paired with an Outlaw Crappie Poles 14ft PRO SE and 40lb K9 Fishing Products deadly combination.

All big fish were released.

Mr John booked a trip for his sons birthday today. They wanted to come over learn FFS and try to catch his PB. Misson accomplished. Brett had a big fish of 1.81lbs. Congrats bud.

We fished 8-10fow lookin for roaming fish that were feeding on shad and we were not disappointed. Fish were very aggressive and would come 3 or 4ft to get the bait. They had they're limit in less than an hour. We didn't stop. We kept fishin and had a blast.

Bait of choice today was the Pop’s Crappie Jig’s "PINK BAITFISH" and Hard Water Jigs in "HFLY". All boat flipped with Outlaw Crappie Poles .

All big fish were released.

Cabin fever got the best of Mr Lutz and I so we made a road trip and man it payed off.

We started the day in deeper water chasing Crappie around but they were few and far between. Something told me to go check shallow. After a few minutes I knew it was gunna be a good day.

I could see the crappie on the bottom shallow swimin around so decided to change things up. I got 3 Outlaw Crappie Poles 6'8" out and setup with a cork and a Crappie Monster Small fry in "CRAPPIE MONSTER". We tried several different baits and colors and this is the one they wanted.

We fished 2-4 fow with fish swimin around. It was hard to just pin point one. Some would sit there but most were swimin. We casted as far as we could and then reeled slow as possible. We reeled just enough to make the bobber creap across the top of the water but also keep the bait in the strike zone. The fish were alittle finicky but this technique would let you use the bobber to help indicate the slightest bite and it was awesome.

Tyler, Troy and Cole wanted to go out and learn FFS. They wanted to learn the basics but also try to catch a few big fish along with some eaters.

Today was a big fish kinda day. We caught well over 50 fish with 9 of them over 13". They came into the day with the potential to catch there new PB's and believe they all did. The biggest of the day and NEW PB for Cole was 14½" long and 1.60lb..To say we had fun would be an understatement. Thanks guys appreciatcha.

We put them Outlaw Crappie Poles to work today on some illinois SLABS. We fished 4-6fow lookin for fish that were suspended and waiting for a bait to come by. They were alittle finicky and would short strike. If anybody has been in my boat u know that I have 4 rods ready to go and all 4 have different baits. So with that being said. BAITS of choice today was Crappie Monster Small Fry in "OZARK SMOKE". Pop’s Crappie Jig’s in CAJUN CRICKET". TOPHAT Jigs Small Fry in "PURPLE HAZE" AND Hardwater Baits "HFLY".

Nate wanted to go chase some crappie on Lake Decatur for dinner with his family and thats what we did.

We fished roaming fish in 5-7fow. We found that if you can find fish away from the shad they were aggresive and would bite pretty good.

We used several baits and a few were small but they wanted it. The 3 they wanted the most was Crappie Monster Small Fry in "OZARK SMOKE". Pop’s Crappie Jig’s in "CAJUN CRICKET" and TOPHAT Jigs Small Fry in "BLUE PEARL".

Had Josh, Justin and Wyatt out on Thursday and what a tough bite it was. We fished brush piles in 8-10ft castin and corkin on lake Decatur and they wouldnt bite. After a few hours and only catching 2 crappie we made a drastic move and changed lakes.

We went to shelbyville and it was tough as well. We fished all depths but something told me to go shallow and man that paid off. We went up to the rocks and there they were just sittin in 2.5ft. We corked Crappie Monster Small Fry in "MARGARITA" and "OZARK SMOKE" and they couldnt handle it.
