Fall has come to the Ridge!! It's cool and our last two guests have already made use of the wood stove in the cabin. There's nothing better than a walk on the property and coming back starting a fire to warm you up. It's definitely cozy.

We just booked our first guests for the cabin!! We're not up on Airbnb yet but our neighbors asked if their parents could stay so we said absolutely!! A couple of more things to do before Friday but let the adventure begin!!!

Here is the owl from last night!!! Our neighbors Mary and Todd came over for pizza which was a little bit of a bust😩 Never try a new recipe when you invite people over!!

We redeemed ourselves when we produced the owls!!! So amazing to see and hear!

So last night was exciting here at Chipmunk Ridge!!! We met Travis and Tina who told us you could call owls!!
We were intrigued because we have heard them many times on the property.
So we got the Bluetooth speaker looked up owl sounds on Spotify and sure enough within less than 5 minutes we had owls!!! It was amazing!!
We figured out they were Barred Owls and they are beautiful. They sound like they are laughing.
Dan has the photos and the video so when I get them I will post them!!

So when you come to Chipmunk Ridge it's worth using the speaker to hear the Barred Owls for yourself!

Mushroom hunting this weekend and Leo on the trail with me!! Dan cleared the trails last weekend so now the ridge is more accessible!! It's fabulous!! I can't wait to share this with people.

Menu is coming along great and I'm to the point where I'm trying to find sources for all the ingredients!!! So excited!!!

I'll post the link to Airbnb as soon as we complete the process.

We've made our final to do list!! Chipmunk Ridge is quickly coming together.

Today's job is to finish up the bathroom. then all the big stuff is done!! Well sort of we have a shed to build!😱.

Lots of little touches to do as well. Oh and then there's the baking and menu to finalize!!

Did I mention we will have an option to choose a dinner for your stay ? I'm so excited for this!! I have some fabulous dinners and dessert options to choose from already!!

I'm getting the Airbnb listing all set up just have to get photos taken.

Phew!!
Our handyman has a business trip next week so hopefully I'll be able to come out and get some stuff knocked off the list while he's gone!!

We can't wait to share the photos with you!!

These are photos from our neighbor's trail cams. Their property backs up to our meadow so these guys were more than likely on our property as well. We heard the coyotes this winter close but haven't heard them since about March so we think they're raising pups. We're the turkeys frequently though and deer too. The owls and Whiperwill( sp ) are heard at night.

We hope you come visit us and enjoy our beautiful woods.

Update!: the woodpecker is a juvenile Pilated woodpecker!! I'm so excited.

Chips are out in full force today!! We saw a new woodpecker today!! A red headed woodpecker we think. Unfortunately the birds of Ohio book has turned up missing. Unsure where we put it. Hmm.

Our resident handyman Dan is putting in the finishing touches on the bathroom today. It's getting new lights and an exhaust fan. Lots of work being done to get ready to rent. We got the grey water system installed this week as well. Bathroom is the last thing needed to be done
