Finally, I'm taking out the time to share details of one the best trips I ever planned. Yes, to Paris, France. This was a solo trip, and my client decided to travel there for her birthday, December 2023.
I want to share with you 4 major details that created her itinerary, and made this trip into a dream (her words):
✈️Flight: American Airlines serviced the flight out of Charlotte Douglas airport. There was one layover in Chicago on the way to Paris, and one in Philadelphia on the back home.
🏨Hotel: Le Wallace Hôtel & Bar"
Very cute, boutique hotel located in the 15th arrondissement. this hotel was chosen because of location, provided "bed and breakfast", it's contemporary/chic ambience, views and great ratings.
🚕Ground Transportation: she utilized taxis and the trains/rail system to get room point A to B. I booked her airport transportation to get her to and from the hotel. For transfers within the city (between tours and activities), she booked on her own, but I gave her several recommendations on how to go about doing this. I also strongly recommended her to utilize the hotels concierge for assistance.
🧭Tours and Activities:Are you ready???
My client moved around quit a bit. From the Eiffel, to wine tastings, to museums, to tours in Normandy, to tours in Lyon. She even went to a futball game⚽️⚽️. All of which I researched and pre-booked for her.
Again, very tedious and detailed, but well worth it.
What made planning this trip so detailed, is the fact that this was my clients first time traveling to Paris, and she wanted to do EVERYTHING‼️. There were several moving parts, and I had to make sure that she was more than prepared, and confident during her visit....and she was.

Convenience is the key, especially when there's a group! Forwarding emails with information can become annoying. No, it is annoying lol
Think about this page as a "marketing tool" that you share with for friends and family. People want to see pictures, prices, deposit requirement, etc)
My group pages are a HIT, and I always receive amazing feedback

So I live in Charlotte, and my got to airport is Charlotte Douglas (CLT)…. which is an American Airlines hub (pictured is JFK, which is also a hub for AA).
What’s a hub? In so many words, it’s where the airline does most of its operating through in a particular region. Yes, the airport operates other airlines, but when an airport is a “hub” for an airline, that means that airline does much of its service through it. Make sense?
Fun Fact✨✨✨
You can normally get direct flights to popular destinations, through the hub a particular airline!
Flying American Airlines, through Charlotte Douglas, gets me direct anywhere (not literally….but you know what I mean!)
Disclaimer—-
no airline is perfect, because they all have their woes….trust me😬‼️🤯…. but it’s OK to have a preference. If that airline works for you, great! Including “Spirit Airlines” (yikes 😂😂)

✨Booking Excursions (my opinion)✨
When I have clients heading to “touristy” areas, I often mention excursions and ask questions about interests, and if there’s anything in particular that they’d like to do!
every so often, they are not sure what they want to do. However, most of the time, they have an idea.
✨The question(s) is now “how to book” and “when to book”. In my opinion, it depends “what”, as in what you’re trying to experience. If you’re trying to experience a boat/yacht. I would suggest you to book ASAP (when), and I will connect you (how)with whomever🛥️
✨Besides that, in my opinion, most of your excursions (depending on what you’re trying to do, and where you’re staying) can be booked upon arrival.
✨However for my people that prefer to have things booked prior to arrival, that’s fine too.
Part of my planning process is “pre-booking” excursions. Most of the time a small deposit is required, but it all depends!

I had the opportunity to plan Ubud/Bali, Indonesia some months ago….and it was enjoyable. It was my first booking/long haul trip of the year and for a honeymoon.

My clients did a phenomenal job, taking pictures, and sending them to me!
Here’s a couple of details from the trip:
🌴Villa: : they put down a deposit, and paid it off overtime.
✈️Qatar Airlines: Economy was sufficient, and the flight was paid in full. It was not packaged with the resort. The most EXPENSIVE travel component of the trip.
🚕Ground Transportation: A simple taxi that I arranged through the hotel. It was about 450,000 IDR, both ways. This equate to about $30 ($60 round trip). Funds were transferred via MoneyGram.
More Informative Details:
✨Traveling to Indonesia is a HIKE (long haul). Build in 2 EXTRA days just for travel
✨Lodging is AFFORDABLE‼️
✨If you’re about the villa/private pool life, come here, please.
✨Wanting all inclusive? Don’t come here!!!! Stay Away‼️
✨Must be fully vaccinated 💉
✨You also need a travel visa and passport.

Ok, so this is suppose to be a record breaking travel weekend. Everyone is outside‼️ I’m sure you’re privy on the delays and cancellations that are currently going on at these airports. I’m all for optimism…yes, believe that you’re going to have an amazing trip with no issues. However, you might be a bit delusional…..but you don’t have to be. Prep yourself for the chaos you may experience. Put yourself in the following scenarios, and think about what you’re going to do—- ✈️ You missed your flight because you were in a LONG TSA line. ✈️ Your flight is delayed for several hours ✈️ Your flight is cancelled! ✈️You don’t receive a credit to book a hotel for the night ✈️ Your luggage gets lost… ✈️Your luggage is delayed ✈️Gate change…and the new gate is across the airport. ✈️ Your small children are irate! Good Morning ☀️ Before we begin the week, let’s get our mind right for the wins (peaks) we will experience, but also the loses(valleys)….which are ok to embrace. They make us a better people, and they always allow the opportunity for growth… I’ve had so many wins as a travel planner, in this first quarter of 2023. Far beyond anything that I could imagine. However, I’ve had moments where I’ve cried(like ugly cry) and experienced major anxiety, due to mistakes I’ve made, and wasn’t sure what I was going to do.
