aku* incorporate into each one of our ceramic pieces! The RAKU process creates a unique, shiny, metallic, and crackled finish on each piece! How Raku Works:
After each glazed piece has reached temperature in the kiln, it is pulled out while red hot. We place it into a bin with something combustable, such as: newspaper, leaves, sawdust, or any organic material that catches on fire. When the hot piece comes in contact with the material it immediatly catches on fire, We smother the fllame and let the piece sit in the smoldering smoke while the effects take place. After the pieces have cooled in the bin each one is then cleaned, scrubbed, and torched. The end result is a truly unique piece!
