Forage a series of seasonal dinners Our menus are created with a focus on ingredients found around us, picked from a farmer’s fields, or bought from dedicated hands.

Forage was conceived out of a desire to create environments and culinary experiences that are not just alternatives to dining in a restaurant, but holistic occasions meant to be enjoyed by all the senses. We decided on, forage, because it alludes to the intimate relationship we have with the food that we source and the items that we reclaim. Our events attempt to conceptualize an idea that’s inspi

ration could be drawn from a single experience, a book recently read, an object come upon or a season anticipated. We design our space using items borrowed, thrifted and found from our ambient surroundings. By combining these elements we create occasions that bring people together to enjoy the pleasure of food and community

POSTPONED: Til Death Do Us Party
Due to the continually evolving risks associated with COVID 19, we have decided to postpone the Forage dinner "Til Death Do Us Party" until the weekend of July 18. We’d love to have you as our guests in the warmer, healthier, summer months. We promise to use the interim time to make this event that much more fantastic, outlandish, and fun.

We spent the weekend working on wedding backdrops for the upcoming wedding themed Forage dinner, Til Death Do Us Party. There will be a total of three complete backdrops around the tasting room of Potter's Craft Cider. Pictures anyone? Did somebody say selfies?

In keeping with our Forage philosophy, much of the elements of the backdrops were gathered from nature or repurposed. We've cut up t-shirts and braided them to make yarn balls, which will then be turned into cloth roses. We've woven wild grape vines into dream catcher rings and collected spruce to hang from arches. Many thanks to Kirsten Gelsdorf and Erica Hellen for helping with production. The pictured arches are still under constructionn, but they're going to be amazing!!

Want to get married at Forage's wedding themed event, Til Death Do Us Party? You can! The owner of Potter's Craft Cider Tim Edmond married good friends Ben Heltzel and Eli Crisler last summer, and he's ready to do it again. Consider this an opportunity to elope at a wedding. The menu for A Night for the Gods celebrated Greek food, with each course representing a different god. Two favorites for me were Domatokeftethes (tomato fritters) and the squid stuffed with wild, foraged nettles. The nettles were harvested along the path to Humpback Rock.

Don’t miss out next dinner on March 22, Til Death Do Us Party. A wedding themed event that is shaping up to be the best Forage yet! Check out the event! Link in the comments.

Thanks to everyone who came to the most recent Forage dinner, Alice in Wonderland. This was one of our favorite dinners ever! The costumes, camaraderie, food, creativity, and conversation transported us all down the rabbit hole. Another dinner series is coming soon. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, email [email protected]

As always, we are incredibly grateful to Kristen Finn for the fantastic photos.

"Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!" Another dinner is upon us, and this time we'll all be dropping down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Three of the dinners are sold out but there is still space in the dinner on October 8. Email [email protected] to reserve a spot or to be added to our email list for future dinners. From mysteriously directive elixirs to a most peculiar spot of tea to cutthroat royal lawn games, the chimerical absurdity waits behind every tiny, locked door.

We know . . . you're excited about our upcoming dinner. So are we! While we immerse ourselves in all things chemically magical, we thought you might want to build your anticipation further by taking a walk down memory lane. Here are some lovely reminders of our most recent dinner, Festa nel Campo, from October 2014. Heaps of gratitude and praise go to immensely talented and kind Kristen Finn Photography for the gorgeous photos!

On a crisp fall evening, we dressed in our Italian best and made our way to Free Union for an Italian-inspired dinner party by our dear friends at Forage. The evening's cocktail hour began with a breathtaking view of the autumn evening light and sunset. When the cold set in, we moved indoors for the dinner in a cozy, attic-like space.

Menu:

Baccala Mantecate con pomodoro arrosto // Salt cod with Double H Farm roasted tomatoes
Salumi & Formaggio
Assorted charcuterie & cheeses....
Ravioli d’Anatra ai Funghi // Free Union Grass Farm duck ravioli with oyster mushrooms....
Bresato al Barolo // Polyface Farms beef braised in red wine
Polenta
Insalata con parmigiano // Butter lettuce with wild greens and parmesan....
Torta di ricotta reinterpretato con olive autunno //Ricotta cake reinterpreted with wild autumn olives
Tiramisu
