New day, new group, new location. We started this tour with an amazing new location in Verona, Italy.

We enjoyed a winery tour and a tasting of our relais owners Valpocella, Rippaso and some amazing Amarones.

A lot of people have visiting the Italian lakes on their bucket list, however, think it's above their budget.

If you don't want to splurge on the higher priced area of Lake Como and Bellagio, try Lake Maggiore.

At Lake Maggiore there are accommodations for every budget. This visit we stayed in a lovely 3 star hotel, across the street from the water and paid 64 euros per night for our room. The hotel had a lovely restaurant/lounge, swimming pool, daily maid service, dry cleaning service, a very friendly staff, and also included a daily breakfast.

The rooms were nicely decorated and each also had a balcony.

The day trips were also within budget, as we used the hop-on-hop-off boat to visit all of the islands.

Having a great holiday doesn't mean breaking the bank.

Our last evening in Barolo and dinner didn't disappoint. Home made pasta with local olive oil and fresh truffles, rolled chicken - stuffed with a sage dressing and accompanied by candied carrots.

Not shown, we had homemade crepes stuffed with a pesto crema sauce, veal sausage, angoletti in meat brodo, Panna cotta and tirimisu.

Tommow we move on to Stresa on Lake Maggiori, another stunning location, completely different from the Piedmont region.

Today we had a visit from the local truffle hunter, visited the charming comune of Barolo and toured/tasted at Fontanafredda winery. We are looking forward to enjoying those truffles at dinner this evening.
