I cannot believe I almost let this day slip without celebrating a very special milestone for Divine Dine Food Tours!
Today marks the 1-year anniversary of Out the Block Experience! For the past year, we've been committed to helping our youth see better, dream bigger, and do greater. We've done this through taking our students on engaging, educational, cultural and culinary experiences OUT the block and into a world of endless possibilities.
Our students never paid one dime to participate in OTBE or attend any of our experiences. Everything is FREE and that is due to the gracious support of people like YOU! Thank y'all.so much!
We do all of this to honor the life & legacy of RayJohn Harshaw!
This milestone is just the beginning! We’re excited to continue empowering the next generation to break barriers and achieve their dreams.

September is all about SELF CARE! It took me 9 months to realize that I matter but I'm here now, and I'm loving it so much!
The work I do with students in Englewood, the business I run highlighting and supporting minority and women-owned restaurants and small businesses across this country, and the youth program I founded to provide out the block experiences for underprivileged junior high and high school students in Chicago ALL MATTER.
BUT, none of this can happen if I'm always running on empty. I don't care if no one ever tells you or has told you to rest or take a break. Your favorite foodie gal is telling you: Rest sis! Take a break, bro! You matter! Self-care is not selfish - it's necessary!

I thoroughly enjoyed hosting my foodie guests at this amazing dining establishment owned by Rob & Tanera. They laid out the red carpet for my guests and I am so thankful & grateful for them both.
For this experience, we created a pre fixe menu for my guests (as always):
🍴 Sweets Before Eats, duh 🤪 - Muffins, Cinnamon Rolls, & Fruit
🍴 Avocado Toast - GET THE AVOCADO TOAST. YOU'RE WELCOME!
🍴Bacon, Eggs, & Roasted Potatoes - those potatoes are special!
🍴Shrimp & Grits - so savory and hearty!
🍴 Mini Lemon Tarts & Brownies
Of course the libations included unlimited coffee, lemonade, tea, plus a Strawberry Lime mocktail created especially for my guests.
As always, my experiences and food tours include a Divine Dine Kiss 😘. This time, I decided to give my guests two kisses: Live Music by way of my good friend, acoustic guitarist, Mr. Joshua Larson AND a sweet treat for the road baked by Tanera, owner of Mixing Bowl Cafe. She's one heck of a baker!
Everything from service to food was top notch! Thank you Rob & Tanera!
