What I do is take my your budget and find the best value for your money.

It may mean recommending a hotel that’s a little bit more expensive but checks ALL of your boxes.

It could also mean recommending different travel dates so your costs are significantly less.

It may even mean snagging you freebies, offers, and other value-adds you won’t get when you book yourself online.

Hey Foodies 👋 How can you make sure you don‘t miss out on the best food spots on your next big trip?

It will all come down to a few key factors:

➡️ What comes to mind when you think of a great food experience?

Is it indulging in gourmet meals? Exploring local cuisine? Or are you more of a hands-on person who would love to learn how to cook traditional dishes? Decide what you like so you can prioritize it in your itinerary.

➡️ How long is your trip?

Do you have lots of time to explore, or just a few days? Depending on how long you‘ll be at your destination, you‘ll want to make room for the best recommendations but leave space to stumble upon spots that may not be on Google.

➡️ Have you consulted anyone else?

Some of the best spots are found through word-of-mouth. I‘m a bit of a foodie myself, and I love researching and connecting with locals to find the best spots for my clients‘ adventures. I found my clients the perfect restaurant in Amsterdam to celebrate their anniversary. And they loved it.

So many places to travel, and only 365 days in a year!
So how do you narrow it down? Ask yourself these four questions!

❓What do you not get enough of every day? Some clients need rest, others want more adventure.

❓How much time do you have? How many PTO days do you have, and how can you maximize them?

❓How much money can you spend? An important consideration when deciding

❓What weather makes you happy? Some like it hot, others need to escape the stifling humidity.

These questions are a great way to narrow down the list a little.

How do you make the most of your travel budget? Let me show you the way:

✅ Don’t delay booking. Prices can fluctuate at the drop of a hat, so booking well in advance is a must.

✅ Have a plan. Have a general idea of how much you want to spend each day of your vacation so you can stay on track.

✅ Don’t fall for false advertising. Sometimes a travel deal looks just fine, but then you get to the fine print and realize it’s not as great as it seems. Keep an eye on the fine print for blackout dates and hidden fees.

✅ Work with a travel agent. I have access to offers and tons of value-added things that you won’t get when you book online through a third-party website.

How far in advance should you book a vacation?

To be transparent, it depends on the season and the destination in question. But if you ask me, sooner is always better than later!

A recent survey suggested that if you book a domestic vacation up to six months in advance, you could save up to 20% on airfare.

For an international trip, booking 10 months earlier can help you save about 13%.

If more luxe accommodations, a private tour guide, a unique experience, a pass for the luxury airport lounge, or just a few extra margs on the beach sounds like a better way to spend that 20%, then it’s about time to get planning :)
