Owensboro, KY to Cannelton, IN: 40 miles and one lock. We are so enjoying these two chamber locks. They get you right through! Another great travel day. Pretty uneventful but that’s not a bad thing. We landed at Rocky Point Marina for the night. Did some laundry and grilled some steaks. 🥩😋 Another great night to sleep with the windows open! 😴

Evansville to Owensboro, IN. 32 miles and one lock. Did some boat cleaning this morning before we got underway. It needed it! Had to wait for the lock to open (closed for repairs) but thankfully it wasn’t too long of a wait. Definitely less debris in the water today but a lot more wind 💨 Got tied up to a free dock just before Owensboro. A bit rickety but like I said, it’s free. 🤪 We are enjoying this trip SO much! The weather has been awesome, the scenery is beautiful, and the company is great!

Yesterday was Mt Vernon to Evansville: 37 miles to Inland Marina. Beautiful weather but lots of debris in the water. Arrived at marina with a bar full of people watching us park. No pressure! 🤪 Fuled up and then played cards with our friends on Firestorm (they kicked our butts btw) LOL. Watched the baseball game on tv, Go Vols! and then tucked in for the night. Awesome day!

70 miles, 10.5 hours, 1 lock and a million barges! Landed on the free city dock in Mt. Vernon, IL. Things got a bit harry as we were tying up and a big cruiser came plowing past 😳🤬 but otherwise, it was a good day!

Yesterday was supposed to be a questionable weather day but aside from a little bit of rain in the morning, the rest of the day was a pretty nice! We traveled 7 hours from Dover to Grand Rivers, KY. The trip was fairly uneventful except for missing a channel marker and getting into some shallow water. Thank goodness for the shallow water alarm! 😳 The mayflies were out in force! We kept trying to avoid large patches of stuff floating on top of the water thinking it was piles of debris only to finally realize they were piles of dead mayflies. Yuck! We are staying at Green Turtle Bay for a couple of days. We are meeting up with some friends from Paris Landing who have the same boat as we have and then together we will be heading up to jump on the Ohio River!

Off we go! Day 1 - Got a late start because we were waiting on one last package to be delivered. 🤪 Traveled 3 hours through wind and rain and floating debris. Anchored for the night at one of our favorite anchorages on the back side of Dover Island. Had to be extra cautious today but overall it wasn’t too bad. Tomorrow’s weather doesn’t look that great so we may not get too far. We shall see!

Long day! 135 miles in 15 hours. Most of that was in 20 mph winds and 2-3 ft waves! 😳 Wheeler lake was angry today! The boat handled it better than we did! 🤪
