Well I already made my statement about the 2 country person rule that is ridiculous, but there have been so many controversial things allowed for this Olympics that maybe it is time to dissolve the IOC and start from scratch with a new governing body that isn't as corrupt and greedy - and especially/definitely has the competitors in mind rather than their pocketbooks. It's nothing new (look at what the IOC did with Jim Torpe at the 1912 Olympics and with Jesse Owens after his amazing performance at the 1936 Olympics) it has just gotten worse each time. The IOC must also have some rules as to decent housing and food at the Olympics - which are sorely lacking this time! The venues must also have specific requirements. The pool in France had a short depth causing waves thus only a few World Records were broken. I could go on and on, but simply put to the IOC 'either change or get out of the way'.

I just watched one of the most relevant music documentaries over this weekend - Stevie Van Zant: Disciple - on HBA and MAX, and if you can find and watch it - watch it all. Steven Van Zant (Little Steven). You've seen him with Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and on the Sopranos, but this amazing person wrote most of the songs, produced, arranged and is still doing so much more. The documentary is long, but absolutely amazing - and what this man has done for music - and is still doing - is amazing!

As you know I recently toured Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia. Flew exclusively on Vietnam Airlines. I just learned that 'Bounce' has named the top ten airlines and Vietnam Airlines was in the top Ten. I agree - it is a great airline.

Coming up soon one of the longest single trips I have ever made - 30 days. I will travel to Thailand for the annual Tourism Authority of Thailand travel conference in Bangkok. After that conference I will visit some sites and Thai friends before I leave for Siem Reap, Cambodia where I intend to visit some temples including the famous Angor Wat. From Siem Reap I will then fly to Hanoi, Vietnam first visiting the city the a few day cruise on board a junk in Halong Bay. From Hanoi I fly to Danang to go to Hoian for a few days to visit the city and relax at the beach. Finally I fly to Ho Chi Min City to see that infamous city then another river cruise on the Mekong River before my flight home. My good Vietnamese friend Ha Son Do of Indochina Treks Travel,whom I met while we were on a tour in Myanmar a few years ago arranged the Vietnam & Cambodia tour. As an expert, I relied on his advice for this part of the trip. As I always do, I will write an article with photographs about this trip when I return so be sure to check on the magazine website www.worldtravelernews.com for updates.

"Almost all Lufthansa flights to/from Frankfurt and Munich canceled on July 27, 2022" - This is just one of many airlines including United and American and others cancelling flights making travel disruptive and showing complete disregard for their customers. These airlines received massive amounts of money during the pandemic to help them that the American people funded - yet the airlines seemed to have just spent it on themselves and made no preparation for the future and now they are crying poor again.
