It’s early but the fish are happy and our fall hatches are starting a little ahead of schedule. Hoppers are still hanging around especially near grassy over-hang areas. BUT we are also starting to see October caddis here and there.
With the rain coming, our fall is going to be 👌🏼nice!
You should get out soon!

On almost very river in the , the brown trout are starting to move from their summer holding places into their fall spawning areas. Now is a great time to catch them while they transition! They are less picky and more apt to eat heavily while trying to fatten up for spawn.
With the rain coming this weekend, throwing streamers will be👌🏼nice! The browns are aggressive and attack in dirty water.
You should get out soon!

We had a great time on the Toccoa with and Lamar. We knocked the rust off some casts and got into some fish quickly.
They really like the 9ft5wt Radius and the Guru S reels (tagged above)
Flies used :
- small golden stone chubby (tagged above)
- pheasant tails (tagged above)
- small black stoneflies .

Sometimes you have to get out of the boat and into the grass to find the bugs.
Checking branches and brush while on the water will help you know what the fish are eating.

We’ve been killing it lately with this pattern. It’s simple but incredibly effective.
A sink tip Radius 6wt and a slow/patient cast, does the trick.

Great winter session in the cold and wet with . We tried to throw tiny nymphs but all they wanted was meat and streamers.

The rainbows are still eating foam. It’s not the correct hatch for the season but with warmer weather and higher dirty water, they will eat it. .
