Check out the new piece of art by Ukrainian Art Company, DION just off Public Square. The piece is lit at night.
Walking around downtown, you may have noticed the Tiffany Glass Building.
When The City Club of Cleveland moved out, the building renamed itself the Tiffany Glass Building. The name went up in December 2023 and this past week the new logos for the building were installed.
The building from 1903 and done by Hubbell & Benes was originally the Citizen's Savings & Trust Bank. It had a Tiffany glass barrel vaulted ceiling, the ceiling beams were finished in painted and gold leaf Tiffany designs and there was Tiffany clock in the banking room.
Talk is the building will be displaying some of the Tiffany glass in the future. We shall see!
Outside the old US Post Office Customs House & Courthouse Building sit Jurisprudence (west side) and Commerce (east side). These two sculptures are done by Daniel Chester French.
You may not recognize that name, but you probably know one of his most famous pieces of art, the statue of Abraham Lincoln that sits inside the Lincoln Memorial in DC.

The Old Stone Church has many amazing old stained glass windows (90 years or older) but today, I would like to highlight one of the "newer" windows, from 1967.
It is called “Paul’s Conversion on the Damascus Road". It is is done by a company called Nobis Studios out of North Canton. The balcony bisects the window so depending on where you in the church it can be hard to appreciate the fullness of the window. But regardless it is quite beautiful.

Mondays at 1:00 pm we offer our Cleveland From the Inside Walking Tour. On this tour we visit the interiors of seven buildings. Over the next seven Mondays, we'll take a look at each of them.
Our first stop is the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
We visit the lobby of the original building from 1923 done by Walker & Weeks. It features a beautiful dome in which the names of the twelve cities that have a Federal Reserve Bank are inscribed. As well as a mural by local artist, Cora Holden called Steel Production.
Visit the USS Cod Submarine Memorial at 2:00 pm as they celebrate the USS Cod and its unique rescue of the crew of the Dutch submarine O-19 during WWII. Admission is free after 1:00 pm. There will be deck gun salute and historic reenactment.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking at the 30th Annual AVECO Conference
"Setting Sail Into the Next Decade of Education Service and Community" at the Hotel Cleveland.
I gave a virtual tour, talking about some of the amazing attractions in Cleveland and specifically things near the hotel that they could explore on their own, like the The Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument - Cleveland, Ohio, the Arcade and the Cleveland Public Library.
We threw in some Cleveland trivia too! What a great group of folks! I appreciate everyone coming to hear me talk. Hopefully they all enjoy their time in Cleveland!
The corner of E. 9th St. & Euclid Ave. transform into the Metropolis Museum of Modern Art for upcoming filming!

This morning I had members of the Vocal Revolution Barbershop A Cappella Chorus from the Boston area on my tour.
They are here in Cleveland for the Barbershop Harmony Society 2024 International Convention.
I asked if they could do a little number for me and they were nice enough to indulge with "Here Comes the Sun".
Best of luck to them and all the singers in town this week!
