A tip for inexperienced/new travelers:
For those of you who haven't flown since 311 was implemented (all liquids larger than 3 ounces must be placed in your checked baggage). My tip is to buy large gallon freezer bags (I use Hefty or Ziplock) and double bag all liquids- make sure to let air out before zipping closed. I also placed a new kitchen sized trash bag over top of my clothes and placed all bagged liquids on top (do not overfill the bags since you want to get a good tight zip). On my recent trip I witnessed multiple passengers having to throw their liquids away or checking additional bags since they weren't aware of https://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/3-1-1-liquids-rule

You are allowed to bring one small bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes through the checkpoint. These are limited to 3.4 ounces or less per container. Consolidating these containers in the small bag separate from your carry-on baggage enables TSA officers to screen them quickly.
