One of the most beautiful mansions and estates I have visited in New England is Blithewold Mansion, Gardens, and Arboretum. The 32-acre estate is part of our renowned Newport Flower Show tour mid-June. Built in the 1890's for a coal industrial magnate family, their home and grounds includes a nearly 10-acre lawn and over 300 species of woody plants in its arboretum and gardens. The spectacular flower display in June is inspiring for its beautiful pollinator gardens.
Come join us as we have afternoon tea/lunch in the Mansion and stroll among the magnificent trees standing tall, including the only century-old Redwood trees planted from seed, east of the Rocky Mountains. Meander down the waterfront path to the sprawling lawn that looks out over Narragansett Bay.
Enjoy the Newport Flower Show, Blithewold Mansion and Gardens, Newport Mansions, Marble House, Doris Duke's gardens at Rough Point, Roger Williams Botanical Gardens, a lovely boat trip to Block Island, and more.
