{𝚜𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐. 𝚜𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚕. 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜} i’ve been wanting to update, finish, add to our little .squirrel.inn and last week was the perfect time. in a 100 year old building comes 100 year old problems, and our plumbing was “slow” so with the help of a local contractor, problem solved. you know, tree roots that i guaranteed have never been dealt with, have now been resolved… so while mr souers got the “fun job” with him, i got to add these amazing $35 matching cabinets {yes, each} and squirrel art i’ve been hoarding, {finally framed her big art piece she gifted me!}, new velvet bedding, new pillows from , new full length curtains from since shooting out the street light was never a solid option, a guest book for signings , and i stole my “nutty as a squirrel” sign from my studio created by that filled an empty spot perfect, and so much more. it’s much more balanced now, and a perfectly kitchy, vintage stay. so enjoy my amazing photos from .photo . she’s. amazing capturing what we’ve created this year.

{𝚜𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚕. 𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚔} ten. months. we’ve been going strong with this little inn for ten months and you all have shown up and loved it. for winging it, changing it up, taking all your feedback in stride to make your stay the best it can be, the last ten months have been so great hosting you all. i’ve had so many ideas, updates etc i’ve wanted to do but we’ve been so booked out, so i’ve finally come up for air and blocked out the rest of the week to do some things i’ve wanted to do to the inn… so stay tuned, nothing super major, maybe some super cool new art i’ve been wanting to add forever {my friend lucy gifted the first photo a year ago and i’m determine to find a frame this week to fit it } new bedding, curtains to finally hide that awesome street light, etc.. i have plans for a “penny entrance rug” but me souers said i need more than a week to complete that art project !} so stay tuned, again, nothing major, just ideas rattling in my squirrel brain and a week to create… .photo

{𝚜𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚕. 𝚜𝚠𝚊𝚐} we spent the week in spokane at our most favorite vintage show, and finally home… i waited to get home to open our inn gift from my favorite twins i’ve watched grow up, and then i got to enjoy other gifts from the weekend as well.. my goal with the inn decorating is not finished so these darling vintage pieces are going to be perfect additions to the inn and your stay… my goal is a “curiosity cabinet” added to more squirrel art in the inn, so all these pieces are just perfect and from faraway friends, even better. i do have fridge magnets gifted of a squirrel with underpants from my crazy fun friend patty that didn’t make the photo..😂 {only because it was in another piece of luggage} perfectly quirky as well!

{𝚜𝚞𝚙𝚎𝚛. 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚍} yep. i’m going to brag. september will be a year we will have been hosting in our little squirrel inn. i’m not good at doing things “half a—“ and take feedback seriously -{ most of it , i won’t be getting a modern shower, sorry!}, but when a guest has suggestions to make their stay better, i take it to heart and have a current list for constant improvement . i can’t change what days there is food available, but i can always change adding a lamp, new curtains {coming} to block that damn streetlight , and always having a little “squirrel treat” and water available upon arrival . so. thank you for loving our little project that we didn’t have any idea we needed to do. we love your stories of how you found our little town that you love as well. so, thank you for letting me brag a wee bit today. %

{𝚘𝚗𝚎. 𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚛. 𝚊𝚐𝚘} squirrel memories . it’s graduation weekend in our little town. last year we didn’t really know any of the kids graduating and we had this, you know, big project going… so while there were grad parties on main street, we were trying not to divorce putting in these massive new doors, and finally our new buddy roy came to the rescue to help that saturday afternoon ! coldwater was also on the big kansas road trip and the inn was on their radar to be a part of it. we warned them we weren’t remotely close to completion as we had labor day weekend as an end goal, but they wanted our story and we we’re honored. we knew coming to town we were a square peg in a round hole , but i have always loved being different, truly being me. so creating a funky super different experience was my goal and it would be all my “vibe” with amazing mr souers skills to pull it off. so a year ago, this is what the inn looked like. i still can’t believe sometimes what it looks like now and all the guests from all over that have stayed here. it makes me smile every single day. thank you for loving it and our community like we do.

{𝚍𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖. 𝚋𝚒𝚐} who would of guessed that this little , er big project we didn’t really plan on taking on last april would amount to what we thought it would… i wish i could list all the private comments from guests that are “finding” our little town by passing through and loving what we are loving. the kindness of the locals, the local businesses they are stopping at and supporting, the “learning how to park” on main street, the quietness of small town usa, the reminders to “grab food before arriving if you are late” because nothing is available because we are small, and so much more. guests being able to walk around at night peeking in shop windows and feeling safe being out after dark, and wondering if anyone would really love my “quirky vintage style” that is so out of ordinary airbnb… people from germany, to the east, west coast and in between are finding and loving our little town of coldwater kansas that we fell in love with a few years ago… dream big… and marry a really great guy who can pretty much build anything you can think up….

{𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘. 𝚏𝚎𝚋𝚛𝚞𝚊𝚛𝚢} deep cleaned the inn this week when the weather was in the 60’s… almost replaced the velvet grey bedding but knew “winter in kansas is not done”… so it will wait and stay nice and cozy with my favorite bedding from . i may have bought the creme set on clearance since i love it so much … it’s perfect in the inn..

Help Cambree Stapleton raise money so she can go to Hawaii this summer to play volleyball!

Sessions are 15 minutes long with 10+ edited images returned to you digitally to do with as you wish. The cost of these are truly a "pay what you can". These are great for updated family photos, headshots, friends, birthdays, couples, maternity, etc. Please keep in mine the space is not meant for large groups.

{𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚝 . 𝚍𝚘𝚘𝚛. 𝚋𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚍𝚜} it’s been on the list for the squirrel inn to complete adding blinds to the front french doors , but when you have a 1900’s building with custom doors , finding blinds that fit isn’t the easiest. so. “wa. la!” blinds! one more little request off the list. bookings are open into september now as i’ve had summer requests to do so with family reunions, graduations, etc being planned already. thank you for choosing our little inn and finding our sweet town. as always feedback has been they love our little town, and it’s difficult finding restaurants on the weekend . it’s getting better for sure and i have a list for guests of what’s available and when to help them out…

{𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚢. 𝚗𝚎𝚠. 𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚛} thank you for making our first few months of the inn so fun! the holiday decor has been put away for the season, the velvet bedding remains for the cold kansas evenings, and i’m already dreaming of changing up the vintage decor for the spring. you know. because being a junker you never know what i’ll drag home that will be fantastically quirky decor for the inn next … {i may have another couch … i know. it’s a sickness }. i believe me souers said it was # seven but who’s counting . {apparently he is ! 😂} bookings are open and beginning to book up for important dates { ie: graduation etc} so if you have dates coming up, check the calendar at the above 👆 link to not miss out… thanks for the love and support…. who knew i’d love it so…

{𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚢. 𝚌𝚑𝚛𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚖𝚊𝚜} from the squirrel inn. a year ago we had zero plans in our heads to open the inn. things play out the way it’s suppose to i truly believe it. we’ve had a few learning curves, but overall having the best time hosting you all, with great plans for 2024. thank you for finding us, reviewing us, giving us great feedback, and overall, embracing my quirky vintage style that rolled around in my head for the year of renovation. from hunters, to locals, to “just passer-throughs” people are discovering how sweet our little town of Coldwater, KS is…. bookings are open now after our blocked out holiday break until january 4th. i’ve opened it up for longer than 6 months so you can get your dates in. the link to book is above ☝🏻. {and no, we have zero other plans to renovate anything else at this time!} merry christmas squirrel friends… 🐿🎄❤️

{𝚏𝚊.𝚕𝚊.𝚕𝚊.𝚕𝚊} last weekend .photo took many a holiday photo at the inn and i cannot wait to see them all! today i just couldn’t take down the christmas displays i created for it, so much of it stayed for the guests that are staying the next few weeks, just redesigned. there’s a few days still open the first two weeks of december then it’s blocked out until first week of january until we return on holiday with our wee one in japan. i know. our very own tour guide who lives there. we never take it for granted… as for the bedding? really should of been a paid endorsement for how many of you purchased after i posted this amazing set! we even purchased the charcoal for our little apartment and the creme for our old library. it really is fantastic… thanks for loving the inn these past few months… we do have new curtains to block out the street lights with installation in january. shooting them out wasn’t an option i guess. 😂 .photo

{𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘. 𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚕} thank you for a great september and all the wonderful feedback… when we bought this amazing building we really just wanted it to “save it” and for the great storage in back. who knew it would fill a need for me to create another unique space in town after we completed “the old library “ to live in. i have a passion for old vintage which i can remember way back since high school wearing a thrifted $15 prom dress from salvation army to my prom… fall is filling up and i’ve blocked out late december when we are in japan visiting our wee one for the holidays, but if you are local and need holiday accommodations, let me know , we can work with you. i love this little inn and am so happy you all love its quirky-ness too. i don’t know how to be any other way … ❤️

{𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘. 𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚕} i think we are close here in the midwest… which means all things pumpkin spice, football, weddings , hunting and so much more… the inn is getting some great bookings and this little squirrel is changing things up a bit in a good way! as of november 1st, please book directly on the link at the top of the page directly through airbnb . i don’t charge a cleaning fee through there as some do, it will just keep all bookings mainstreamed and you always can check to see what’s available at any given time as the holidays approach. if you’ve booked directly through me and i’ve blocked your dates out, no worries , you all are good ! working on some links with local eateries to see if on weekends you can “pre order” some food i can have already available for you when you arrive… so be watching for that ! thank you…. i’m loving having our little quirky inn available in our sweet town for you all… it’s been so fun meeting you and having you stay…

all you squirrel guests! bri’s new coffee shop opens this saturday! she’s had the best little coffee shop in town, now she’ll have the best bigger coffee shop more centrally located to the inn for your morning brew!

{𝚕𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚛. 𝚍𝚊𝚢. 𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚔𝚎𝚗𝚍} fully booked all weekend. check. thank you haviland broadband for getting the inn connected today with wireless internet and if you feel the need to “do nothing but stay in, the inn now has hulu live, paramount plus, netflix and max { which is hbo, silly name change } . many asked at open house “where’s the tv? i love a good hidden tv.. tucked away nicely in the big old cabinet. doors open when you’re ready to veg.. . . bookings are coming in so if you have holiday guests coming, be sure to check the online calendar for open dates ..

{𝚜𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚕. 𝚒𝚗𝚗. 𝚛𝚎𝚚𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚜} at open house yesterday there was some great “thinking out of the box” ways people could utilize the inn other than just overnight guests which i loved all the ideas! ideas like, wedding parties getting ready, birthday parties , workshops, photo ops, etc, great ideas! so if you are wanting to book the inn for anything other than nights stay, please book 𝙳𝙸𝚁𝙴𝙲𝚃𝙻𝚈 with me through messenger or my number if you have it as it’s so much easier to adjust fees and times on dates in the calendar rather than going through the link. loved all the ideas , let’s make them work!

{𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔. 𝚢𝚘𝚞.} i could end my post here…. with gratitude and all the love mr souers and i felt tonight at our open house.. from custom cookies i requested from the blonde grill and she “gifts us” these two amazing cookies, to the “we get to support you now” poster signed by almost all the local highschool kids, to all of you that kept coming to our open house tonight…. we felt the love and support right back… thank you for loving what we created for our little place we call home. .squirrel.inn
