Whale Watch Excursion
This particular day threw a wrench into our plans. Originally, we’d booked an excursion to kayak with whales and it was meant to be a 6-hour excursion. We hopped into the van to head to the docks with our small group of 6 when our guide got the phone call that our excursion had to be cancelled due to 4ft waves (enough to capsize a kayak). To say I was disappointed was a massive understatement. This was the excursion I’d be waiting to do for over a year. I was so excited to do something so adventurous! My husband & I begrudgingly went back to the port and signed up for a standard whale watch boat tour. I expected mediocre at best compared to the private kayak adventure we were originally meant to do. Boy was I wrong! We got to see so many whales, and not only did we see the humpbacks bubble feeding, but they also surprised us by coming SO CLOSE! Their size and beauty was overwhelming to say the least. We had a fabulous time on this tour and it turned a really big disappointment into a wonderful, surprisingly great day!
