COVID VACCINATION UPDATE FROM VIKING CHAIRMAN TORSTEIN HAGEN:

Dear Viking Guest,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I write to you today to share a positive update as it relates to your upcoming voyage.
Much has changed in the world over the last three years, since the start of the pandemic and international travel came to a halt. With most countries around the world lifting their vaccine requirements for foreign travelers, we can once again travel freely across all seven continents. It has been a gradual return, but I think we all can agree that life is back to normal.
This is further supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) recently ending its global health emergency declaration for COVID-19, and the U.S. government lifting many of its remaining COVID-19 requirements.
Bearing in mind these recent developments, Viking will lift its requirement for all guests to be vaccinated against COVID-19, for voyages embarking on or after November 1, 2023.
Our vaccination requirement will remain in place for all voyages embarking on or before October 31, 2023. As our research shows that the overwhelming majority of our guests are already vaccinated—and they have told us that, for now, they are happy with our existing protocols—we feel this is an appropriate transition period.
Since resuming operations in May 2021, our guests have returned to exploring the world in comfort—thanks to the industry-leading protocols of the Viking Health & Safety Program. Though we have been more conservative than other travel companies, we are proud of the approach we have taken to operating in COVID times.
At Viking, our top priority has always been—and will continue to be—the safety and wellbeing of all those on board our ships. As such, we continue to recommend that guests stay up to date with all relevant vaccines, in accordance with their healthcare provider.

Viking River Cruise Day 5 Linz, Austria. Last picture is the town square and the balcony (orange building) Hilter made his speech to the Linz people to follow him into war. About 60,000 people showed up; but when asked after the war known would say they attended his speech. It was an eerie feeling knowing such evil was born and lived in this town!! It’s a beautiful town now and we were told every student is taught about German, Hi**er and have to visit a concentration camp to graduate. They never what this to happen again!!
