Look, I don't like having to share this unpopular opinion but.... I had high hopes for this Mickey Buttercream and Caramel Mickey sandwich cookie from the infamous Karamell-Küche at the Germany pavilion in #epcot.
It was saved to an Instagram snack board my girlfriend and I shared, for MONTHS! It was priority number one for me in terms of new Epcot snacks to try. I nearly made a beeline to Germany for it after riding Remy at rope drop but alas....
Every Disney food blogger loved it. They raved! And man did it disappoint. I'm a sucker for all things caramel, but this treat was just too insanely rich for me. I couldn't even finish it and had to toss it to the parks favorite dining spot --- a trash can (#iykyk).

📍Animal Kingdom --- one of Disney's must lush yet insanely hot parks 🥵 It's an expensive park yet people seem to get congested in the same spots, so let me tell you about this *secret* spot to escape the throngs and meltdowns.
Tucked in the Northeast corner of the park in the Africa region, home to an amazing assortment of food, entertainment and the world-famous Kilamanjato Safari 🤩 But we're going to walk past all that to the Gorilla Falls Exploration trail.
On this less traversed trail, you'll see the namesake gorillas plus okapi (my fav!!!!), hippos, meerkats and you'll step into this spot. This protected aviary allows you to walk amongst various African birds, including these adorable little friends who build nests out of grass. If you stand still, you'll start to see these 🪹 everywhere and the master builders working on them.
I could have stayed here for hours, just watching and taking in the dozens and dozens of birds and their exquisite symphony of song.
Make sure to give this trail a visit next time you're looking to leave the crowds behind in the afternoon heat, or just kill some time between Lightning Lane reservations 😉

🫰🏻 Let's be real --- Disney is expensive! BUT this is one Disney splurge that I never regret:
✨ Staying at a Deluxe resort! ✨
In addition to the extraordinary theming, dining options and often closer park proximity, there's a key reason that I always splurge on a deluxe resort: the Deluxe After Hours! 🕚
What's Deluxe After Hours? Stay at a Deluxe resort and get 2 extra hours after the park closes on specific nights. As of this post, Magic Kingdom offers this perk on Wednesday nights and Epcot offers it on Monday. We hear that Disney will be bringing back Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom in the near future 🤞🏻You must have a valid theme park ticket for the park on the day of Deluxe After Hours, and if you don't have park hopper, you must be going to that park to be able to take advantage of them.
In addition to experiencing lower wait times than normal, you can also enter the virtual queue a second time at 6:00 p.m. 🤩 On a recent trip, this meant my friend and I were able to do guardians of the Galaxy via the virtual queue when we entered at 7:00 a.m. and then again during after hours, thanks to those Deluxe After Hours at Epcot.
If you have unlimited budget, you can for sure stay at the bougiest of bougie Deluxe resorts like the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian. But there are other options if you are more budget conscious... In fact, I've seen a few of these hotels go for as little as $209 a night.
