Barre-OM Physical Fitness Barre-OM™ is a method that was developed by barre instructor/trainer Rachel Wilson.

The method uses small isometric movements to work muscles until complete exhaustion and also incorporates orthopedic stretching to lengthen muscles. Barre-OM™ incorporates aspects of pilates, ballet, and yoga to help students achieve a dancer’s physique. Barre-OM™ creates long and lean muscles, whittles away the waistline, and tones arms, abdominals, thighs, and glutes. Barre-OM™ is a method that

strives to find the balance between effort and ease. Barre-OM™ instructors encourage clients and are sensitive to clients’ physical limitations. Modifications are frequently offered and encouraged so that clients may challenge themselves safely and effectively. The Barre-OM™ method emphasizes the importance of hands-on adjustments/corrections and instructors consistently provide thoughtful, meaningful and individualized assistance to clients. Bhavani Lorraine Nelson once said that “when we sound om together, we’re aligning body/mind/spirit; we’re aligning with one another; we’re aligning with the universe because it’s the sound of the universe and we’re referencing something real.” Barre-OM™ was created in an effort to bring people of varied backgrounds, experiences, beliefs, mindsets, fitness levels etc. together in an effort to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit.
