Thirty Years Ago today Laurie and I opened Figlio Grandview. We were attorneys in our mid-thirties 30 with a dream of starting a wood fired pizza and pasta restaurant with our 3-year old and 6-month old daughters in tow. (Sound easy?) Our formula was simple: Hire nice people and serve great food. It worked. Given the fact that I had never worked in a restaurant until opening night, I attribute our longevity to the people we hired then, as well as the people we hired for the next 30 years. Ted, Tracy, Jp, Susan, and John paved the way for other young people to pay their college tuition, make life-long friends, and in many cases – fall in love with the person who would become their spouse. Thank you to all of you who have worked at Figlio over the past 30 years and thank you to all of you who have dined with us each night. It’s truly been a dream come true! (If you had a favorite server or a favorite menu item at Figlio, please give them a shout out!) And feel free to share this post with others.
