Seville, Spain Semana Santa de Sevilla (Holy Week) 2018 4K

Hi All! This video was my awe-inspiring experience in Seville, Spain during Holy week in 2018. I've learned a lot of the history behind the annual religious processions and taught me a lot about sacrifices that some people will take to show their devotion to their faith. It was the most emotional, spectacular and awesome events that I have encountered in a street parade and I'm excited to share this experience with you all. The following information can provide a glimpse of what is going on in the video: Holy Week in Spain is the annual tribute of the Passion of Jesus Christ celebrated by Catholic religious brotherhoods (Spanish: cofradía) and fraternities that perform penance processions on the streets of almost every Spanish city and town during the last week of Lent, the week immediately before Easter. The "SEMANA SANTA DE SEVILLA" is notable for featuring the procession of "PASOS", lifelike painted wooden sculptures of individual scenes of the events that happened between Jesus' entry in Jerusalem and his burial, or images of the Virgin Mary showing restrained grief for the torture and killing of her son. The SAETA (Flamenco) is a revered form of Spanish religious song that evoke strong emotion and are sung most often during public processions. These "PASOS" (which usually weigh over a metric ton) are physically carried on the neck of COSTALEROS (literally "sack men", for their distinctive -and functional- headdress). The "COSTALEROS" (from 24 to 48) are hidden inside the platform of the "PASO", so it seems to walk alone. A CAPIROTE is a Christian pointed hat of conical form that is used in Spain. It is part of the uniform of such religious brotherhoods.
