We started the year off in Jamaica 🇯🇲 (big up!!!) and had so much fun navigating through different Parishes during our stay.

This was our first vacation following the pandemic (as we had gone there before the country locked down). They had really good measures in place and we felt safe at all times.

It’s really awesome to be able to ring in the new year in a different country to see how they get down 😜… but most importantly to experience any cultural variations and customs!

We are definitely looking forward to ringing in the New Year on another island this year 🥳

Has this ever happened to you? Even though our banks are being vigilant and protecting our asset it’s the last thing you want to do on vacation is call your bank. To avoid this just let your bank know ahead of time.

What travel has given to us are lifetime memories and an in-depth experience with other cultures. It brings us together as a family, and as people, helps us realize how similar we all are in nature. It is an educational, feel good for the soul type experience that we couldn’t change for the world.

Some lessons are learned the hard way 🥴.

Ever try going to a country without reading the fine prints on what you needed to bring? Yeah… not fun.

As we headed to Belize a couple years back, I didn’t realize that we needed to travel with some notarized documentation if only one parent was traveling with the children.

Took a trip to the airport and had to turn around and head home and try to get on the flight the next day because only so many connecting flights were available to Belize.

Nevertheless, it was a lesson learned about traveling with proper documentation.

Hey yu’all 👋🏾!!!If you’re new here, let me formally introduce us!

We are the SvnWanders— a fun family of 7 that love traveling the Caribbean!

The oldest two are sisters and one of us is Mom of the 3 young ladies, and the other is Mom of the 2 boys.

We love a vacation that has a bit of everything— beach, adventure, and an immersion of culture for wherever we are.

We started traveling internationally about two years ago, and this picture was taken when we spent the summer in Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦, the birthplace of the Moms!

We look forward to sharing our many adventures with you as we navigate through the many islands of the Caribbean and everywhere else abroad 🧳!

𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚!

When I was 10 and 5, the only places I’d been to were Florida and New York. Maybe California (before 10). I definitely didn’t have a passport 😂. I don’t think it was due to finances, I just don’t think my parents were in that state of mind 🤷🏾‍♀️!

But I knew that I loved to travel 🧳!

I am so grateful that these little guys get to experience the world 🌎 at such a young age. Making them appreciate other cultures and customs, and becoming global citizens!

They are some tough critics! If your pool doesn’t give, or your room service is not up to par, don’t expect a good review 😂.

Travel Tip Thursday!

Especially during the Panini, it’s really important to have your own pen when filling out customs info. A lot of flight attendants have no problem passing the pens around, but for sanitation purposes… just bring your own 😅. Plus… it will save you a lot of time at customs.

🄸🄼 🄰 🄱🄾🅈 🄼🄾🄼 🄰🅃 🄷🄴🄰🅁🅃💙

So sometimes while we are on vacation, I do things that will do! Lol. We leave the girls at the resort and venture off for some adventure.

This particular day, we had the pleasure of participating in two amazing activities in Antigua 🇦🇬.

We got to zipline at and swim and feed stingrays at and they did not disappoint!

Our first stop was zip lining, where we went down 8 zip lines! Even Oliver, who is 5, did it and had a blast! Noah, who is 10, zip lined for the 2nd time and now feels like a pro!

The staff at the zipline place were so courteous and fun to be around. They made the experience for the little ones very enjoyable!

Once we left there, we stopped for a tasty lunch and then it was off to feed the string rays!

I have to admit that I did this activity kind of scared 🥴. When I saw the size of these stingrays, I asked myself why did I sign up for this. But I’m a trooper and want my children to be fearless… so off we went!

Noah was a bit apprehensive, but once one of the guides literally out one of the stingers of the stingray in his mouth to prove they won’t sting him, he was all for it! They were awesome.

Both boys fed the stingrays and I have to say it was a once in a lifetime experience. Still can’t believe we did it!!! 🥳

• Shirley Heights is a restored military lookout and gun battery.

• The Lookout Point is a high point (about 490ft) that affords a fantastic view of English and Falmouth Harbours, which is the best view in Antigua!

• It is the perfect setting to watch the sunset (although you should know that the sun in Antigua sets rather early… before 6!)

• On Sunday’s, from 4pm to 10pm, this is the place to be! There’s an amazing bbq that happens, music playing, and very tasty drinks. The owner is the sweetest woman you’ll ever met and the staff is so friendly and professional.

• You will meet both locals and tourists at this location, as well as vendors that sell their artistry.

• The vibe is so relaxing that you won’t even realize how fast the time flies by!

• If you’re on the island, your visit won’t be complete without visiting so make sure to head over for food, the view, and the vibes!

This beautiful little island of Antigua that we called home for 9 days gave us so many life long memories that we will truly cherish forever… although this island is small it is mighty in culture and experience and it has the best locals!!🇦🇬🤍

The youngest 7th Wanderer, Oliver, absolutely hates the sand. With a passion. When we leave the beach, he’s the main one complaining to 🗣🗣🗣 get this stuff off of him!

Nevermind that we went TO the sand, when he’s done, the sand needs to be done too 😅.

𝕆𝕟𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 "𝕞𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕤𝕖𝕖" 𝕙𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕝 𝕤𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤 𝕠𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕚𝕤𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕗 𝔸𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕘𝕦𝕒 𝕚𝕤 𝔹𝕖𝕥𝕥𝕪'𝕤 ℍ𝕠𝕡𝕖 𝕊𝕦𝕘𝕒𝕣 𝕄𝕚𝕝𝕝 ℙ𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕥𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟.

It is one of the earliest Sugar Mill plantations, dating back to 1651. It was an agricultural and industrial enterprise and home to a large number of people.

For a donation, you can visit a small museum on the property that lays out a map of what the plantation looked at during its prime. In addition, you can take the time to visit the grounds and get a great understanding of how important the production of sugar was on the island.

We had an amazing tour guide who gave us extra history of the site, that even the boys enjoyed learning! If you’re looking for an educational and fun experience for the whole family, make sure to stop by!

We had a blast! Let us tell you a little bit about the grounds!

Located about 20 mins from the airport, the offers a unique experience to its guests.

This includes:
- 5 options for dining
- breathtaking clear waters on their private beach
- swim up rooms for their Diamond Club members
- 8 overwater bungalows that provide sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea
- Kids club and Teen Hangout for them to enjoy!
- Amazing cabanas that come with a personal plunge pool
- Lively entertainment throughout the day and at night!

With the 7 of us traveling together, you can imagine that it’s hard to please everyone. We genuinely all had a wonderful time at this resort. Whether we spent the day lounging by the pool, on the beach, by the bar with our favorite bartender ordering drinks, or at the kids area having a blast, we were all truly satisfied.

Overall, if you’re looking for a family friendly resort with some good amenities, don’t hesitate to look into this one! Can’t wait to go back to Antigua 🇦🇬!!!

We have thoroughly been enjoying our time in Antigua 🇦🇬, but most importantly with each other. We have shared so many laughs, drinks 🍹, and first experiences on this trip! It was much needed! After 6 months since our last vaca 🥴, we couldn’t wait to be 🗣outssssssiiiiddddeeee!!!

Each individual brings something special to our crew, and we are so happy that we can truly enjoy our time together. It’s not everyday you may like your family, but imma stick beside this crew 😊😊😊

What is Juneteenth you ask? It’s the annual holiday in the United States commemorating the end of slavery. It is celebrated on the 19th of June, and has been celebrated since 1866.

🖤- it celebrates freedom and originated in Galveston, Texas.

❤️- the day was celebrated by praying and bringing families together. Some made an annual pilgrimage back to Galveston on this day.

💚- the celebration reached new heights in 1872 when a group of African American ministers and businessmen in Houston purchased 10 acres of land and created to hold the city’s annual Juneteenth celebration

On June 17,2021, It became the 11th holiday to be recognized by the federal government, and President Biden signed the bill to officially make this a federal holiday!!!

So happy Juneteenth Fam! ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

The one thing you DONT want to happen to you is for your phone to malfunction when you’re on vacation 😫.

In this day and age, there are just a few phone numbers that people can remember by heart. So… tip for today is to have the important numbers written down just in case you’re stranded somewhere, you can call 🗣 somebody!!!

Also, make sure that all the people you write down don’t live in the same house. 😆 in case of emergency, we need options!

Came across this fact that I thought was pretty interesting. 30% of families spend between $2-5k on a vacation.

Of course info such as what this actual price included, if destination was international, and the amount of people included as a “family” was not present 😕.

Between air travel, lodging, food, and excursions, spending that amount seems rather reasonable!

Before Winter comes to an end, it’s only right for us to share with you our 1st trip in the snow! We couldn’t have gone to another place but Montreal, Canada at it’s our hometown, even though we hadn’t gone back there in over 14 years! Seeing the kids experience snow (many for the 1st time) and taking in that cold 🥶 weather (compared to the sunny 80s in Florida) was a treat in itself! We were surrounded by immediate family, celebrated birthdays, and the kids had a great time attempting to put their French skills to work 😂. Next time we are in the cold weather, we need to go skiing!
