Our staff works around the clock, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to keep the horses safe. We are in the field with the herd every day, monitoring the horses for injuries, recording notable behaviors, tracking movement, documenting harem dynamics, collecting DNA for breed conservation, and educating the public. The more we know about the horses, the better equipped we are to shape a sustainable future for them in the wild.

This work is not cheap - we have a fleet of vehicles to maintain, fuel costs, iPads and phones for recording and storing data, signs and banners, and other daily operating costs. The things we can do with this research, data, and daily observations are endless, but we can only operate within our means. And that’s where your support is critical!

Hey [ Y a l l ]

It has been awhile since we first introduced ourselves. The whole idea of starting a small botique-y sailing charter company started after stumbling across this beautiful classic boat last spring. Ryan, myself [Jill], and our sheepadoodle Banks have been restoring SV Pelican over the last year and getting our business plan in order.

Captain Ryan and I have been living and working on boats since 2016. We’ve sailed a majority of the Caribbean, Southern California, and Mexico.

I taught myself to cook when we started term-chartering in the Virgin Islands. I am constantly inspired by local ingredients, culture, and fellow yacht chefs I meet.

Ryan’s marine experience took on a whole new level of responsibility when we moved south too. He safely navigated us back and forth to Grenada every year, is an experienced weather man, and somehow manages to find a way to fix every problem that arrises at sea.

[Banks]
Banks our 8.5 month year old sheepadoodle became part of the crew winter of 2021. She is gaining all her confidence on board our boat Pelican and is slowly developing her sea legs.

We established Coastal Sols LLC with the ultimate goal of continuing to inspire conscious living through coastal experiences. We share a passion for life on the water and the joy that it brings. We wanted a way to be able to share a glimpse of it with YOU! So here we are less than a month away from opening our small business. Eeekkk it brings all the feels. Get ready for a really unique experience in the Outer Banks this summer! We will be starting with the most magical sunset sails and memorable dinners at anchor. There will be lots more to come!
