Here are some of my favorite photos from 2019 Williams GeoAdventures Trips to Scotland Orkney and Shetland Island and from the Northwest Geological Society Trip to the Dolomite Mountains of Northern Italy and Slovenia.

Just finished our fabulous GeoAdventure to the Shetland Islands of Scotland with Angus Miller of Geowalks. Below are photos of a Viking long house at Jarlshof, Sumburgh Head, Mousa Broch, Scalloway Castle, Unst loch, Muckle Flugga Lighthouse, Unst tsunami deposit, Hermaness seabirds, puffin, Scottish breakfast, and the group enjoying a Scottish breakfast.

Reen and I are next on our way to Italy for some relaxation in the Cinque Terre and then it is off to Venice to start our Northwest Geological Society Dolo-Slovo Rocks! trip to Northern Italy and Slovenia.

Had a wonderful time in the Orkney Islands. Here are some photos of the Yesnaby Cliffs, Stones of Stenness, Neolithic sites at Skara Brea and Stromness, the Mull Head Nature Preserve, and the archaeological site at Westness on the Isle of Rousay. On to the Shetland Islands!

Greetings from Invercargill New Zealand. The GeoAdventures New Zealand trip is going great and we have a wonderful group. The first five photos were taken on the North Island. 1, 2, and 3 are on the active volcano on White Island, 4 is of Tongariro National Park, and 5 is at Castlepoint. Photos number 6 and 7 were taken on the South Island. Photo 6 is at Nugget Point and 7 is the petrified Jurassic forest at Curio Bay. On to the Fiordland Mountains tomorrow and Milford Sound the following day. Good times!

For the Scotland Rocks! 2017 trip, there is a $300 discount if you share a double room, and $500 off for a single room. The regular trip price is $4,480 each plus $900 for the single room. The price for you will be $4,180 in a shared room or $4,880 for a single room. What a deal!

For the Grand Canyon Raft and Rock 2017 trip, there is a $200 discount. The regular trip price is $2,980 each and you get it for $2,780. What a bargain! Nearly everyone who has done this trip with me lists it as one of the best trips ever. I would like to think it is me but it probably has something to do with the one of a kind Grand Canyon. This is a late summer trip, so the conditions are really lovely.

Due to the timetable with my travel partners, these offers are good until April 30.

Tom and his crew are enjoying the glorious lands of Scotland! These are pictures of the Isle of Staffa, which means Pillar Island. It is made of basalt columns, formed from igneous rock. Fun fact of the day!
