My husband, Jerry, and I started visiting Shell Point in 1998. It didn't take long for us to fall in love with the Shell Point area. Since then, we purchased two canal front vacation rental homes in Paradise Village of Shell Point, with high hopes for future retirement there. We love fishing and photography, so Wakulla County is perfect for us. Several years later, I started handling reservations for a few other property owners in the area.

Shell Point, FL - October 3, 2022. Went down to un storm prep and found a little time to be out on the water. Shell Point had a negative storm surge, when Hurricane Ian made landfall around Ft. Myers last week and sucked most of the water out of the Apalachee Bay. We had no wind damage and the water is back. Life is good. Deb & Jerry Word

St. Marks, Wakulla Springs, BW's Grill in Crawfordville & Shell Point, FL - August 20, 2022 - Tried to make it to St Marks National Wildlife Refuge to view the spoonbills before they took off to their afternoon location - we got there too late, so photographed St. Marks Lighthouse instead. Stopped at Wakulla Springs for a little while. Then over to BW's Grill in Crawfordville for a delicious lunch of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, okra and biscuit. Stopped by "Sandy's Sandwiches" food truck at Shell Point Beach and had some chocolate cake with flan icing (yummy). Then back to the house to relax on the porch. Falling Waters State Park

Falling Waters State Park (Florida's highest waterfall), Chipley, FL. Huge trees and fern-covered sinkholes line Sink Hole Trail, the boardwalk that leads visitors to Florida's highest waterfall. Falling Waters Sink is a 100-foot deep, 20-foot wide cylindrical pit into which flows a small stream that drops 73 feet to the bottom of the sink. The water's final destination remains unknown. Only a few miles south of I-10, the park provides travelers with a quiet, serene stop on their journey. Visitors can see beautiful native and migrating butterflies in the butterfly garden, take a dip in the lake, or have a family picnic. Hikers can experience the verdant, gently sloping landscape of North Florida. Park rangers host interpretive programs in the amphitheater. Full-facility campsites nestled in a shady pine forest provide the perfect excuse for an overnight stay at Falling Waters.
