Our favorite meal at Secrets Playa Blanca was Portofino, the Italian 🇮🇹 restaurant!
We enjoyed a wide variety of appetizers, salads, pasta and meat dishes. And dessert of course!
Then we explored the resort a little more, including the nightclub 🪩 Desires! They have a dance floor 🕺🏻, several TVs with seating nooks for groups and a bar. A fun place for those looking for nightlife!

If you haven’t noticed a trend, we enjoyed trying almost all of the food the resort had to offer, and it’s worth sharing! Next up is Seaside Grill 🌊
🍳 At breakfast Seaside Grill is reserved for Preferred Club guests. They offer a variety of made to order breakfast options. I tried the salmon toast, egg toast and chicken chilaquiles!
🍽️ But at dinner, it is available to all guests and is an open-air casual option. We dined here after our excursion and it was a great, filling option after our long day! Spinach dip, empanadas, mushroom soup and salmon. 😋
Seaside Grill is also open for lunch but we didn’t try it. Guess I have to go back! 🤣

Market Café is the buffet at Secrets Playa Blanca, open for breakfast and lunch. And there is truly something for everyone!
🍳 At breakfast they had nearly every breakfast food imaginable - waffles, pastries, bacon, eggs (fried, poached, hard boiled), omelets, quesadilla station, tostada station, fresh juices, yogurt, oatmeal, a chilaquiles station, a mimosa station, and more! So many options!
We did not visit for lunch, but I would imagine it is more of the same! 😋

☕️ Open 24 Hours, Coco Cafe is the spot to go to when you’re wanting a specialty coffee, small bites, and treats!
Small sandwiches/paninis, cookies, ice cream and more can be found here, and it will often change from day to day, and depending on the time of day as well.

🏝️ The Costa Mujeres area is known for its incredible beaches and Secrets Playa Blanca is no exception!
They also have 4 pools for their guests:
💧 The Social Pool where you’ll find a swim up bar, music, activities and Bali Beds for rent
💧 The Infinity Pool offers an infinity edge facing the ocean
💧 The exclusive Preferred Club Pool offers an infinity edge with the best ocean view, premium loungers, and premium service and drinks
💧 The Jungle Pool is the star of the show with mini coves, stone paths, secluded lounge areas and Bali Beds with hammocks for rent. There is a swim up bar (but not currently open). Check out the Jungle Pool! 😍

🏝️ While Secrets Playa Blanca is a beautiful resort and not necessary to leave to have an amazing vacation, we did decide to venture off site to Xel-Há park!
Xel-Há is an all-inclusive park for the whole family that features water activities, natural attractions, restaurants, and the best landscapes to admire while relaxing in a hammock or walking by jungle pathways. There are cenotes, lagoons and caves to explore and zip-lines that end in the water that you will only find in Xel-Há!
We had so much fun in the river, water slides, caves, grotto, cenotes, cliff jumping, adventure park, lighthouse and more! There’s also snorkeling, an awesome children’s playground and several activities like snuba, dolphin, sting ray or manatee interactions, and more!
And your food, drinks, towels are included!

🏝️ Our second day we spent some time at the beach (it’s gorgeous) with margaritas 🍹 and later moved poolside for some snacks (nachos and fish + chips - delish).
🍱 Our next dinner was at Himitsu, the Asian restaurant! I must have been super hungry as I didn’t take pictures of all of the food but the Gyoza, Thai Coconut Soup, Pad Thai & Tempura sushi roll were tasty! 🍣
Himitsu also offers Teppanyaki tables - and is the only dining that requires a reservation.

After arrival we settled into our room, had snacks at the Preferred Club Lounge, and enjoyed the empty Preferred Club Infinity pool (while everyone else was getting ready for dinner!). Then we headed to dinner ourselves.
Secrets Playa Blanca has 9 restaurants to choose from. Our first choice was Bordeaux, the French restaurant.
This was a great meal to start off with! 😍
🍽️ Scallops, Brie Puff Pastry, Lobster Ravioli and Raspberry Phyllo Pastry. It was all DELICIOUS 😋

Last fall I visited another Secrets resort and I am excited to check out this property and the amazing views, amenities and grounds!

When booking theme park vacations to the Orlando area, I’m often asked about adding a few days at the beach!
🌊 I had a few days to get away so I headed to Clearwater Beach for a few days of sun, sand and relaxation!
🛥️ We stayed on the marina side and were just a 5 minute walk from the beach. We had a rental car but I was surprised at how walkable it was! We didn’t use the rental car until we left!
🛶 On our last day we headed to Honeymoon Island and kayaked over to Caladesi Island State Park. What a beautiful place with untouched vegetation, wildlife and beautiful shoreline. We saw lots of wildlife including a manatee, birds, fish, sting ray and maybe even a shark! 🦈
