I am happy to announce that the City of Crowley has been awarded 10 trash receptacles through the “Keep Louisiana Beautiful” Trash Receptacle Grant. In an effort to remind citizens and visitors to help keep our city clean, our street department staff recently placed them at points around Third Street Park and the Martin Luther King Center.
As you know, we were just named the district winner of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation’s Cleanest City Contest. We will be judged for state competition in late April. We ask everyone to help us retain our title of “Cleanest City in Louisiana” in our population category by keeping their part of Crowley clean.
I appreciate all that you do to help our citizens stay informed on city business, events, and activities.

The purpose of this position is to perform administrative and supervisory duties in the planning development and operation of public recreation programs. Duties also include arranging and managing a variety of recreation programs; training, supervising, and ensuring work performance of employees; Other duties include managing the department budget; performing public relation duties; and coordinating facilities and programs.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Preferred: Any one or combination of certifications by the National Recreation and Park Association.

• The Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
• The Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE)
• The Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO)
• The Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI)

The mayor had a great time trying out the new toys in the game room at the ETCFE Learning Center. A number of students gave presentations in honor of Black History Month. The children’s presentations represented famous African American sayings, inventors, trailblazers, songs and dances. Mrs. Audrey Spencer is the Director of the Center.

Making plans to start the facade restoration of the Historic Rice Theatre for the City of Crowley. We are excited to be a part of bringing new life to this historic theatre on Crowley Main Street. Stay tuned for the transformation! Mobilization will begin next week.
