Frontier Airlines has launched a new promotion offering free checked bags for summer travelers, starting May 28, the same day Southwest Airlines ends its “two bags fly free” policy. Frontier’s offer includes additional benefits such as a free carry-on, seat selection, and no flight change fees for nonstop flights.

This initiative is a strategic move to attract customers impacted by Southwest’s policy change, which the airline says is part of a financial strategy to reduce costs and increase revenue.

📢Updates to Southwest’s, Checked Baggage Policy!! For reservations booked or changed on or after May 28, 2025, checked baggage fees will apply. They will offer two free checked bags to our Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Business Select Customers, and one free checked bag to A-List Members and other select Customers. Southwest will credit one checked bag for Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers. Weight and size limits apply.

For Customers traveling on reservations booked prior to May 28, 2025, their current baggage policies apply.
