FINALLY our gigantic humongous mammoth EPIC sale in Mesquite is going to happen. This is Part 2 of our big sale at the same location, the Skyline area of Mesquite. Those of you who were at that sale will remember how big it was. Well…that was just a tease. This sale is three times the size of Part 1. The storage house in the backyard (2 stories plus attic) has been emptied (almost) and the contents are now for sale. More of everything. Much much more of everything. So big in fact that we’re holding it for FOUR DAYS!! and selling from the entire house, the patio, two tents in the backyard, the rest of the backyard and the lower floor of the storage house!

The gentleman of the house was a musician, band director, Music Ministries Coordinator for the First Baptist Church in Dallas who became an antiques dealer and furniture refinisher when he retired. The house is full of spectacular antiques, crystal, Wedgewood, Staffordshire, costume jewelry, sterling, an AMAZING collection of toys, model cars, games, puzzles, Tyco and Lionel train cars and accessories, vintage video equipment, cameras and electronics, closets bursting with clothes including true vintage from the 50s-80s, photos and ephemera including a LOT from the First Baptist Church, children’s toys and stuffed animals from the 20s-90s, dolls, dolls and more dolls including 2 Madame Alexander dolls….much too much to tell you about. You will just have to look for yourself.

We’ve got a great sale for you THIS WEEK. We’re opening this one on THURSDAY and selling through Saturday. All 3 days 10-4. Oh what a weekend we had! Thanks to one and all who came out to Mesquite to shop our fabulous sale. As I said, we saw a bunch of old friends and made some new ones.
I’ll tell you a little secret: We will be holding a second sale at this same location in Mesquite. There is a huge storage area we couldn’t get unloaded before sale time. And the house was so full anyway there would have been nowhere to put it. The next sale will have some of the same great antiques from sale part 1 plus beautiful wicker furniture, loads of Christmas, more children’s furniture, art, many many more children’s books and the most beautiful heavily carved antique pool table you’ve ever seen. Perfect for the billiard room in your house. You do have a billiard room, don’t you? We haven’t picked the dates for our sale part 2, so you’ll have time to find a house with a billliard room before it goes up for sale. Plus the contents of dozens of boxes we haven’t opened yet. Who knows what we’ll find? AND a 2009 Hyundai. Also the contents of the shop of the gentleman of the house where he refinished and restored his antiques and made lamps from musical instruments. There are at least a dozen instruments hanging in the shop waiting patiently to become lamps. Alas, that will never happen now. But you instrumentalists out there will be able to find uses for them I’m sure.

Today I’m going to show you the TOYS and games in our sale. You won’t believe how many there are. What started out to be half a table of games turned out to be 4 tables of toys, the floor underneath and 3 book shelves FULL. These toys were played with and loved by the two sons of the family so there may be a missing piece of this one and a missing piece of that one but they’re GREAT! All priced “as is.” There are also some toys of their Dad’s from the 40s and paper dolls of their Mom’s from the 50s. Also take a look at the huge amount of ephemera, photographs and scrapbooks (17+) in the sale, costume jewelry, sterling flatware and goblets, 3 handmade patchwork quilts (one baby crib size,) and an Hawaiian souvenir lamp I just found today. You’re going to love this sale.

Once again, the forecast doesn’t look good for tomorrow. But we’re not letting that prevent us from opening tomorrow at 11AM with a big 50% OFF.

This hasn’t been a big sale for furniture so we stil have some great pieces left that will be at ridiculously low prices tomorrow, including the Cable-Nelson spinet at $130. I wish I had room for it. I would buy it myself. Also the Health0meter eye-level weight scales that retails for about $1400. Tomorrow it will be $150. Lots of art left too. Great watercolors and original oils.
