📍This suggestive road is called Viale dei Cipressi and is located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci. It is a tree-lined road five kilometers long that connects the Oratory of San Guido to the historic center of the village of Bolgheri.

🌾Bolgheri is a small village in the province of Livorno, known everywhere for its red wines that are produced in the area. But even if you are not particularly a wine lover, Bolgheri will certainly have something to show you: whether it is the narrow streets of the historic village, or the castle, or the beauty of its surroundings, you will certainly return home satisfied.

Massa-Carrara has been included among the 52 worldwide destinations that the New York Times proposes to visit in 2024. A destination for every week: an opportunity to discover nearby tourism in Tuscany and visit some of the most evocative locations in the area.

From the Carrara-Avenza station it is easy to reach the city centre with local public transport, and then continue on foot starting from the Academy of Fine Arts, which houses an important collection of Roman marbles inside the courtyard.
We continue towards the Duomo dedicated to Sant’Andrea Apostolo, famous for its façade entirely covered in white Lunense marble, alternating with bands of black Colonnata marble.
A last stop not to be missed before leaving again: the Carmi - the Museum of Carrara and Michelangelo, housed in Villa Fabbricotti, a nineteenth-century building located inside the Padula Park, which tells the story of the sculpture of Michelangelo and the link with city of Carrara.
From Carrara in a few minutes by train you can reach the  Massa center station.  From here, a walk of about thirty minutes leads to one of the most characteristic panoramic points in the area. The  Malaspina Castle: a medieval fortress that dominates the city from above and from which you can enjoy  one of the most beautiful views of the city,  the Apuan Alps and the coast.
Another short walk to arrive in the more famous  Piazza degli Aranci.  “In the middle of the public square, orange trees grow, planted in the ground”  wrote Leopardi in 1827 during his stay in Florence. Here stands  Palazzo Ducale: the most imposing monument in the city, called “Palazzo Rosso” for its characteristic color, which creates a strong contrast with the white of the marble and stucco. The palace, as the  New York Times recalls, will host a collection of works in the spring, including paintings from the studio of the Italian Baroque painter Carlo Dolci as part of the  Uffizi Diffusi project.

📍Perugia is the capital of the Umbria region.
It is known for the defensive walls around the historic center. The Palazzo dei Priori, from the medieval era, is home to an important collection of works of Umbrian art starting from the 13th century.
The Gothic cathedral, overlooking Piazza IV Novembre, houses frescoes and paintings from the Renaissance period.
In the center of the square is the Fontana Maggiore, made of marble, with bas-reliefs depicting the signs of the zodiac and scenes from the Bible.

📍🏔️L I V I G N O is an Italian little town located very close to the Swiss border.
It’s part of the Italian Alps.

🇮🇹 Livigno's first settlers were probably shepherds during the Middle Ages. The first documents called this area Vinea et Vineola. The name possibly comes from an old German word for "avalanche" which have always been frequent in the valley – the last avalanche to hit the village was in 1951, causing seven deaths and damage to a dozen houses.

⛪️The main points of interest are Saint Mary's parish church was erected at the end of the 19th century, on a previous church. The current building incorporated the previous one, which was left standing until the end of works, allowing church services to be carried out as usual.

Other buildings of note are the Caravaggio church and Saint Rocco church, built at the beginning of the 16th century as an offering for protecting the village against plague.

🔍 Did you know? Livigno enjoys a special tax status as a duty-free area. Italian VAT (value added tax) is not paid. Although tax advantages for Livigno were recorded as far back as the sixteenth century, the current tax exemption was first introduced by the Austrian Empire around 1840. It was then confirmed by the Kingdom of Italy around 1910, then by the Italian Republic and the European Economic Community in 1960. Although no VAT is paid, income taxes are, thus Livigno cannot be considered as a tax haven.

The justification for such a status is the difficulty in reaching Livigno during winter, and the centuries-long history of poverty in the region. The various states wanted to ensure people would have an incentive to live in the area (so that they could claim it territorially). At the same time, the tax revenue from Livigno would have been negligible.

📍In the picture you can see Alberobello, a town of Puglia region, Italy. It is known for the Trulli, that are white conical stone buildings, present by the hundreds in the hilly district of Rione Monti. The 18th century Trullo Sovrano is a two-level trullo. The "Casa Pezzolla" Territory Museum exhibits furnishings and tools that recreate life in the Trulli as it was in the past.

🤔What to see in Naples - part 2

1️⃣ The National Archaeological Museum of Naples
It was one of the first archaeological museums in Europe (it has been open since the end of the 18th century). It houses the Farnese collection that belonged to the Bourbons (who founded the museum), antiquities and prehistoric finds from the south as well as those from the cities buried by the eruption of Vesuvius.

2️⃣ The historic center
It is the living heart of the city of Naples and the place where you will find the largest number of monuments to visit. There are about 200 churches, museums, palaces and alleys. The historic center area is characterized by some of the most important streets of Naples such as the upper and lower Decumanus, via Duomo, via San Gregorio Armeno, Piazza Bellini, Piazza Dante, Piazza del Gesù, Piazza San Domenico Maggiore.

3️⃣ Cathedral of Naples
Do not miss a visit to the Cathedral of Naples, a real marvel of the historic center dating back to the 1200s and including two other buildings: the Basilica of Santa Restituta where the baptistery of San Giovanni in Fonte is located, which turns out to be the oldest in west, and the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro.

4️⃣ Castel dell'Ovo
It is the oldest castle in the city of Naples and is one of the elements that stand out the most in the famous panorama of the gulf. It is located between the districts of San Ferdinando and Chiaia, facing via Partenope.

🤔What to see in Naples - part 1

1️⃣Spaccanapoli
Spaccanapoli is a long road in the historic center of Naples that divides the north from the south, cutting it in half. Along the road and around there are some of the most important churches in the city.

2️⃣The monastery of Santa Chiara
The monastery and convent complex of Santa Chiara is a building of the '300 famous for its incredible cloister covered during the '800 of 30,000 hand-painted tiles.

3️⃣Plebiscito Square
Plebiscito Square, near the sea, gives onto the entrance of the Royal Palace of Naples. Here, you must do the game of orientation in the square: blindfolded, it is impossible to cross the square without turning in circles: seeing is believing.

4️⃣Underground Naples
Naples is a stratified city where the Greek, Roman, medieval and current cities coexist on layers of tuff. The lower layer is that of the Greek cisterns then used over the millennia for other purposes.

📍Here we are: Rome pt. 2!

🏛️ You can’t obviously miss the Castel Sant’Angelo, built at the behest of Hadrian as a burial place for himself and his family, until it became part of the Polo Museale of Lazio. Today it hosts a rich gallery of ceramics, sculptures and paintings as well as a magnificent view towards Corso Vittorio II.

🏛️ Among the hills, the Campidoglio occupies a place of excellence, which has always housed the most important state buildings in the history of Rome - until Michelangelo intervened on the square in 1534, giving it its current arrangement - and which today houses the Capitoline Museums, born from the antiquarian collections of the various popes starting from 1471.

🗺️ As for the squares the five not to be missed are Piazza Venezia with the Vittoriano, Piazza di Spagna, where the Trinità dei Monti church triumphs, Piazza Navona with the Quattro Fiumi fountain by Bernini and the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone by Borromini, piazza della Rotonda dominated by the Pantheon and piazza del Popolo with the church of Santa Maria del Popolo.

⛲️ Among the parks of the city it is worth spending a day at Villa Borghese, both for the view that can be enjoyed from the terrace of the Pincio and for the innumerable museums inside the gardens, first of all the Galleria Borghese, which hosts a high number of works by famous painters and sculptors such as Caravaggio, Titian, Raphael, Bernini and Canova, not to mention the magnificent Italian and English gardens that can be admired throughout the park. A very short distance away is also the National Gallery, with 20,000 works of modern and contemporary art with an invaluable heritage of Italian and foreign masterpieces.
