TGIF! Over 14,000 trout have been stocked since Monday, and 85% were >12”! Also, for those of you who like the challenge of chasing Atlantic Salmon, it’s time!! Kensington State Fish Hatchery stocked Mt. Tom Pond and Crystal Lake today each with 120 2-year-old Atlantic Salmon. For those fishing moving water, rain showers yesterday provided the rivers/streams a welcome bump in flow and fishing conditions are excellent. Please use the USGS CT Flow table to follow the water levels on your favorite river and get out there and enjoy! Finally, be sure to attend our celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day, Saturday, Sept. 28th from 10-3 at Black Rock State Park in Watertown. Activities (including trout stocking) and fun in the outdoors for all!

Another stocking of 50 large Brook Trout today, this time to Mohegan Park Pond Trout Park in Norwich. These fish are gorgeous and average 15” and 2lbs each! Please continue to follow our daily stocking reports to find out where we are headed next week. Note, these fish are a bonus to the scheduled fall trout allotment, which will begin in the next few weeks as we monitor water temperature and flow conditions. Have a great weekend!
