East Grand Lake is the premier place to fish for large Landlocked Salmon, Lake Trout, Brook Trout and Bass! With Bear, Moose, Deer and a growing population of Wild Turkey, you are sure to need a tag for your hunting excu

rsion in this area. Looking for a challenging body of water to test your canoeing or kayaking skills, check out several rivers in our area, some with Class 1& 2 rapids. Do you just want to relax and take in the scenery? Bird Watching is phenomenal in the area and hard to find species such as the Spruce Grouse, Golden Eagles, and the Boreal Chickadee can be seen with just a bit of knowledge and good luck! US Route 1, between Danforth and Weston, was designated a scenic roadway and named the Million Dollar View Byway, for a reason! Stop and take in the beauty of Mount Katahdin or the views of East Grand Lake, Brackett Lake and Deering Lake...all are breathtaking! If you want to hike to a higher elevation to capture the true beauty of the area, climb Peekaboo Mountain where a renovated fire tower awaits for you to capture a 360 degree menagerie of it all.
