Happy 165th Anniversary, Dawsonville! 🍾 Dawsonville, the county seat, was incorporated on on this day, December 10, 1859.

Named after The Honorable William Crosby Dawson, a compiler of the laws of Georgia and Commander of a brigade in the Creek Indian War of 1836. Dawson also served in both houses of the state legislature and in Congress before the Civil War.

We are gearing up for the 12th Annual Christmas Parade, Jingle Market & Tree Lighting happening this Saturday, November 23rd in Downtown Dawsonville at City Hall!

The Happenings...
🎅Jingle Market featuring 50+ Vendors 2pm - 8pm
🎄Christmas Parade 4pm with the Tree Lighting following Parade Awards 🎄
🎁Food Trucks will be at the Farmers Market Pavilion, along with You Snap Photos with Santa and other kids activities.
🎸Following the festivities, warm up at Grandaddy Mimm's Distilling Co. with Live Music with Tommy Townsend at 7:30pm-9:30pm - Take a ride on the mechanical bull 🐂
☕The Station House will be open with Hot Chocolate, Cider, Coffee, Fried Pies and more
🏁 The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame (GRHOF) will be running their new racing simulators till 8pm and kids ornament decorating form 5pm-7pm
🎨Other activities include live performances, caricature artist, face painting, sand art and more!

Updated Parade Starting Location: (Map in post) The parade rolls at 4pm sharp starting from the **Dawson County Courthouse/Government Center** then circling the Historic Courthouse to Hwy 53 passing Dawsonville City Hall/Georgia Racing Hall of Fame to Main Street, then to Memory Lane to finish.

Join us Monday, November 11th in Downtown Dawsonville for the annual Veterans Day Parade with Veterans Affairs of Dawson County 🇺🇸

The parade will start at 2:30 p.m. and will start and end at the junior high school, turning left out of the school’s parking lot onto Highway 9 and traveling down Highway 9 South around the historic courthouse before turning onto Academy Avenue, Highway 53 and finally onto Allen Street to end on the opposite side of the junior high school.
